As a Business Architect, VP at State Street Investment Management (“State Street IM”, formerly known as State Street Global Advisors or SSGA), you will play a key role in developing, maturing, and institutionalizing the business architecture function. Contribute to the adoption of the PPS operating model by embedding business architecture principles and frameworks.
Provide business architectural oversight and thought leadership for transformation initiatives and strategic programs.
Develop and maintain business architecture deliverables such as capability maps, value stream diagrams, and investment roadmaps.
Support strategic planning, innovation, and change management efforts across the organization.
Collaborate with solution architects, product managers, and delivery teams to ensure business outcomes are realized.
Mentor and support junior business architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in business architecture, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or strategic transformation roles, preferably within investment management or financial services.
Proven track record of supporting business architecture functions in complex, matrixed organizations.
Strong expertise in business capability modeling, value stream mapping, operating model design, and enterprise transformation.
Technical proficiency in solution architecture, including experience collaborating with solution architects on integration patterns, API management, microservices, and composable architecture.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including cloud-native solution design, data integration, and security best practices.
Experience with business capability software catalog tools and relevant governance.
GenAI expertise preferred: familiarity with generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, responsible AI practices, and integrating AI/ML capabilities into business processes.
Experience supporting large-scale transformation initiatives, including PPS or similar operating models.
Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, BIZBOK, ArchiMate, or similar.
Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into actionable technology and data solutions.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and strategic thinking skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, navigate organizational complexity, and drive measurable outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, computer science, engineering, or technology required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
