Location: 4 on-site days a week in Sunnyvale, CA Headquarters.

Our Team's Vision:

Our Marketing team illuminates and evolves the global brand, driving revenue and empowering future success for our Sales team. As a leader in Zero Trust Segmentation, we are dedicated to helping organizations prevent cyberattacks and mitigate the impact of ransomware.

Renowned for our innovative solutions and collaborative spirit, we foster an inclusive environment within Marketing and across the company. Join one of the industry's most creative and dynamic teams, where you'll discover opportunities to excel, be empowered to set ambitious goals and define your path to success!

You’ll be part of Illumio’s Brand team, working alongside designers and cross-functional partners to shape how our story shows up in the world. We operate as a collaborative, high-impact team with a focus on craft, clarity, and meaningful storytelling.

We’re looking for a highly creative Motion Designer to join Illumio’s in-house Brand team. This role will own and scale motion storytelling across campaigns, product marketing, and web—bringing complex cybersecurity concepts to life through clear, engaging, and visually compelling narratives.

You’ll partner closely with brand designers, product marketing, and content teams to create motion that elevates our storytelling and strengthens Illumio’s visual identity. This is an opportunity to help define and evolve our motion design language while building a best-in-class in-house capability.

Your Impact:

· Create high-impact motion work across brand and marketing initiatives, including campaign assets, product explainers, digital ads, social, and web

· Translate complex cybersecurity concepts into simple, engaging visual stories that resonate with technical and business audiences

· Collaborate with designers, writers, and product marketing to develop concepts, storyboards, and animatics

· Animate polished, on-brand content with strong attention to timing, transitions, and visual clarity

· Help define and evolve Illumio’s motion design system, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints

· Support video and animation workflows from concept through final delivery, including audio integration (voiceover, music, sound design)

· Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, balancing quality and speed while meeting deadlines

· Incorporate feedback thoughtfully and iterate quickly to reach the strongest creative solution

· You create compelling motion assets that elevate Illumio’s campaigns and product storytelling

· Motion becomes a consistent, recognizable part of the Illumio brand

· You help reduce reliance on external agencies by producing high-quality work in-house

· You contribute to a scalable motion pipeline that supports growing content needs

Your Toolkit:

· 3–5+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or related roles (in-house or agency)

· A strong portfolio demonstrating motion design, storytelling, and brand-driven work across a range of formats

· Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects and solid working knowledge of Premiere Pro and Illustrator

· Strong understanding of animation principles, typography, composition, and pacing

· Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment

Bonus Points:

· Experience with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender

· Familiarity with Figma and modern design workflows

· Experience creating motion for web (e.g., Lottie, lightweight animations)

· Background in SaaS, enterprise tech, or storytelling for complex products
