About this job

Test Operations Lead (Level 4 or 5)

Company:

The Boeing Company

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a highly motivated Test Operations Lead (Level 4 or 5) to join the F-15 System Integration Test (SIT) team located in Berkeley, MO. The team operates multiple Electronic System Integration Laboratories (ESILs) and is comprised of 20+ multi-disciplinary test engineers and support professionals.

As a Test Operations Lead you will be responsible for directing program execution activities for the SIT team, catering to multiple domestic and/or international development programs. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Mentoring early career, operations-focused engineers and technical support specialists
  • Developing and maintaining test plans and test execution schedules for complex projects
  • Creating and maintaining metrics or dashboards to track team performance and progress to plan
  • Scheduling day-to-day bench assignments for team members across programs/test sites/labs
  • Facilitating the sharing of test assets/avionics across multiple programs and teams, accounting for conflicts and priorities between various program schedules
  • Coordinating lab bench upgrades/modifications, facility maintenance, test asset certifications
  • Keeping track of team skillsets, identifying skills voids
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with teammates, program managers, and other cross-functional teams/leaders (i.e. software, hardware, safety, …)
  • Acting as primary lab test contact for test activities across multiple programs
  • Collaborating with lab management and test engineers to continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, driving efficiency and effectiveness in the lab.
  • Identifying risks, issues, opportunities; developing mitigation plans
  • Managing team budgets as a Control Account Manager (CAM) under the Earned Value Management (EVM) construct
  • Leading program baseline activities for new efforts
  • Estimating future work leveraging historical actuals
  • Ensuring team test artifacts (i.e. summaries of test events, commentary on failures, engineering team recommendations) and other contract deliverables (CDRLs) meet quality standards and are provided to customers on time

The candidate must work well in a fast-paced environment with frequent shifts in priority. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as you will work with a large team of cross-functional individuals. The test team is often the “last line of defense” in terms of vetting hardware and software prior to flight test. Upstream schedule churn often puts schedule pressure on the group – it’s important you can remain calm, cool, and focused in these scenarios.

Occasional extended days or off-shift work may be needed to support critical business milestones.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.
