About this job

Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.

The Company operates Snapchat, a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world, and Specs Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to making computing more human, in addition to Bitmoji, Saturn, and other digital services.

The Creative & Marketing team brings Snap’s brand to life in culture. We partner across the company and with external partners to create work that helps people understand who we are, what we make, and why it matters.

Snap is looking for an Art Director to support the SPECS Marketing team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for a versatile creative who can art direct, lead creative development, produce work, and design. You will develop ideas, set the visual tone, build decks and assets, direct photo and film productions, and bring creative to life across brand, product, digital, social, web, and experiential work.

You will work with senior creatives, designers, copywriters, strategists, marketers, producers, and external partners. You will own assigned workstreams, communicate clearly, make sound creative and production decisions, provide actionable feedback, and help deliver work that meets a high bar for craft and impact.

At Snap, job descriptions reflect primary responsibilities but do not limit the scope of contribution. We expect every team member to offer their services wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of our work and to pursue individual career growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop creative concepts, visual territories, campaign platforms, and design systems from a brief or insight.

  • Set the visual tone and craft standard for assigned projects, carrying the work from concept through final delivery.

  • Partner with copywriters, strategists, designers, marketers, producers, and senior creative leadership to develop integrated ideas.

  • Build high-fidelity creative decks, treatments, mood boards, storyboards, presentations, and visual explorations.

  • Present concepts and recommendations clearly to creative leadership, marketers, strategists, and other stakeholders.

  • Concept and art direct photo shoots, film productions, and other content productions, including treatments, shot lists, casting, wardrobe, production design, lighting, and visual language.

  • Participate on set and collaborate with photographers, directors, cinematographers, stylists, editors, production companies, and other creative partners.

  • Own day-to-day creative production for assigned projects, helping manage timelines, deliverables, reviews, risks, and final delivery in partnership with producers and project leads.

  • Concept, design, and build key campaign assets and marketing materials, working directly in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Translate campaign ideas into cohesive visual systems across digital, web, social, experiential, and other relevant touchpoints.

  • Provide clear, specific, and actionable feedback that strengthens the idea, improves craft, and moves the work forward.

  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high bar for creative quality, visual consistency, and attention to detail.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-impact, culturally relevant brand campaigns and visually driven creative work.

  • Ability to take creative from brief through concept, visual development, production, and final execution.

  • Strong art direction skills across photography, film, digital, web, social, and experiential work.

  • Hands-on design craft, including the ability to create production-ready visuals, decks, presentations, and campaign assets.

  • Exceptional eye for composition, typography, color, photography, motion, visual storytelling, and craft.

  • Strong understanding of photo and film production, including pre-production, on-set execution, and post-production.

  • Strong presentation, storytelling, collaboration, and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Ability to give concise, direct, and actionable conceptual and design feedback.

  • Ability to work independently on moderately complex projects, manage multiple stakeholders, and make sound decisions with appropriate guidance.

  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with comfort working directly in files.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant creative experience.

  • Experience working as an Art Director or in a similar creative role at an agency, studio, or in-house environment.

  • Track record of concepting and executing visually driven brand, product, or marketing campaigns across multiple channels.

  • Experience taking creative from initial concept through production and final execution.

  • Experience concepting and art directing photography and film productions, including participating in or directing work on set.

  • Experience developing creative decks, treatments, storyboards, mood boards, and presentations.

  • Hands-on design experience using Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in or alongside luxury, fashion, design, premium lifestyle, consumer technology, hardware, or wearable technology brands.

  • Background in luxury and/or technology, with an understanding of how to make emerging products feel desirable, human, and culturally relevant.

  • Experience developing integrated brand or product campaigns across photography, film, digital, social, web, and experiential channels.

  • Experience producing creative projects and managing production details from planning through delivery.

  • Experience working with photographers, directors, production companies, agencies, and other external creative partners.

  • Familiarity with AR, AI, immersive experiences, or other emerging creative formats is a plus, but not required.
