Six Figure Work

Federal and state government jobs with a published base of $100K+

Government jobs come from federal agencies posting on USAJOBS, plus New York State agencies posting on the state's own board. The Department of Veterans Affairs posts more of these than any other agency, mostly for physicians and other clinicians, and you'll also see attorneys, engineers, IT specialists and policy analysts across dozens of agencies. Federal postings usually close on a fixed date and expect a résumé written for the USAJOBS format, so read the how-to-apply section closely.

How to read these figures

Figures are employer-published annual base ranges in USD for postings open at last check. They are not offers and not total compensation, and they do not show what anyone is paid. Because we list only ranges that start at $100K or more, these figures describe six-figure postings, not the whole job market. Read the methodology.
