About this job
About Fieldguide
Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners specifically within cybersecurity, privacy, and financial audit. Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.
We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We're backed by top investors including Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, DNX Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.
We value diversity — in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture that we are building, seeking teammates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.
As an early stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by bringing together up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.
About the Role
As an Audit Methodology Lead, you will play a key role in shaping Fieldguide’s methodology integrations. You will act as the bridge between our audit methodology partners and ensuring our agentic platform delivers accurate, contextual, and explainable methodology that auditors can trust and that meets the requirements of audit standards.
You will focus on operationalizing methodology documentation and guidance from our partners within the platform. Your role will ensure the methodology and testing agents reflect professional standards, firm guidance, and industry nuances, while continuously learning and improving.
You will work closely with product, engineering, and AI teams to ensure our platform translates audit standards, methodology content and professional judgment into reliable AI-powered workflows.
This requires a detailed oriented person, solid judgment, and the ability to navigate both standardized and non-standardized content (including professional standards). It’s a great opportunity for someone who is methodical, curious, and interested in learning the inner workings of financial audits.
What You’ll Do
Methodology Management

Enable and configure partner-sourced methodology content and audit procedures within the platform, ensuring audit standards are translated into usable, platform-ready workflows
Integrate and structure guidance from US GAAS, PCAOB standards, and other relevant frameworks, delivered through partner content into organized, accessible platform content
Evaluate and incorporate partner-provided industry procedures, testing approaches, internal control testing, and practice guidance into the platform's methodology library
Manage and oversee the methodology content and engagement template ingestion and review process to ensure completeness and accuracy of the methodology content
Review and refine methodology and engagement templates incorporating auditor feedback from real-world usage
AI Collaboration
Partner with AI architects and engineers to translate professional standards and practitioner judgment into prompts, workflows, and guardrails for our integrated methodologies and testing agents
Work with product teams to turn audit standards, methodology from our partners and industry guidance into functional specifications and user workflows
Implementation & Maintenance
Support financial audit implementation teams, including firm-specific customization and annual updates
Ensure methodologies and customizations are implemented with appropriate quality control rigor, including version control, review/approval processes, and documentation of changes
Monitor regulatory and industry developments and advise on their product implications
Maintain and evolve the audit knowledge base as standards and guidance change
