About this job
What is JetZero?
Today’s aircraft contribute around 4% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.
JetZero is developing a blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft. It uses up to 50% less fuel and will be built to accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.
The JetZero Team
We are experienced aerospace professionals and engineers, excited about the future. That future will only be possible if we share our vision and what it means to people’s lives: carbon-free flight that' is better for both passengers and airlines around the world.
As an Avionics Architecture Engineer, you will be responsible for helping create and integrate the full avionics suite for JetZero's aircraft by translating operator and airworthiness requirements, working with the avionics suppliers to implement those requirements, and going through the testing and integration process. You will collaborate closely with other system engineering teams, labs, and technicians to shape the avionics system.
JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Demonstrator systems team.

- Perform supplier oversight during procurement and development phases
- Oversee the system integration of the Avionics system and integration within the aircraft with the other systems
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation to verify system performance
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership and guidance
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, systems, or a related engineering discipline
- 5-10+ of experience in avionics development and integration
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the V-model lifecycle
- Experience with avionics integration on Part 25 aircraft
- Experience with supplier oversight
- Ability to analyze technical data, troubleshoot test failures, and drive root-cause investigations, and document results clearly
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats, intellectual curiosity, and good cross-functional versatility
Preferred Skills & Experience
