This role is in office Monday to Thursday.

The Role

Blue Owl’s GP Strategic Capital (“GPSC”) platform is seeking a senior professional to help lead the business’s Client Portfolio Management function. GPSC is an approximately $70 billion investment platform spanning three specialized investment strategies, multiple product types and structures, and a global investor base of more than 700 clients.

This individual will sit within the GPSC investment team and be deeply ingrained in the business and its investment and product processes. The individual will work closely with GPSC’s investment team and Blue Owl’s centralized Institutional Capital (“IC”) and Private Wealth teams, serving as a senior liaison across these groups and helping to connect the day-to-day activities and priorities of the business with the broader firm’s client and sales functions.

The role is not client-facing. Instead, the individual will help lead Client Portfolio Management for GPSC by establishing, administering and managing the overall framework around the business’s client efforts—from setting priorities and developing forward plans to coordinating coverage across the GPSC investment team and Blue Owl’s centralized client teams, developing and overseeing engagement plans and materials, and driving accountability and follow-through. The individual will also help develop a more coordinated and consistent approach to how GPSC engages with clients across written communications, virtual engagement and in-person interactions. This will include creating a scalable, best-in-class client engagement playbook for a specialized investment strategy that requires significant storytelling and a deep understanding of the underlying investments, portfolios and products.

This is a senior administrative and operating role requiring strong commercial judgment, the ability to understand a complex business and investment process, organizational leadership and exceptional project-management skills. Success will require the ability to translate strategy into clear plans, coordinate across numerous senior professionals and functions, and drive execution through credibility, influence and disciplined follow-through.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Coordination

  • Lead GPSC’s annual client engagement strategy and calendar in partnership with GPSC leadership and the IC and Private Wealth teams, including product launches, fundraising, and other strategic business priorities.
  • Oversee GPSC’s client coverage framework, helping coordinate priorities, responsibilities and engagement plans across the GPSC investment team and Blue Owl’s centralized client teams.
  • Maintain a consolidated view of client priorities and activities across the platform and help ensure appropriate planning, preparation and follow-through.

Client Engagement, Content and Communications

  • Coordinate input and align GPSC’s approach to client engagement across written communications, virtual engagement and in-person interactions.
  • Develop and oversee consistent playbooks and processes for client preparation, engagement, materials, information sharing and follow-up, while allowing for appropriate flexibility across clients, products and geographies.
  • Lead planning for GPSC’s client content and reporting calendar, including investment updates, portfolio commentary, market perspectives and other recurring communications.
  • Coordinate inputs across the investment team, research and thought leadership, client servicing and other firm areas to ensure materials accurately reflect GPSC’s strategies, portfolios and perspectives in line with firm policies and procedures.

Execution and Team Leadership

  • Coordinate the execution of major client, fundraising and product-related initiatives, including clear plans, responsibilities, timelines and deliverables.
  • Drive alignment, accountability and follow-through across the investment team, client servicing and centralized firm functions.
  • Lead, manage and mentor the GPSC client servicing team and ensure the team remains closely connected to GPSC’s investment activities, product priorities and broader client strategy.
  • Enhance operating processes, routines and management tools to support a growing and increasingly complex global platform.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and use technology more effectively across client-related activities.

Firmwide Partnership

  • Serve as a senior day-to-day liaison between GPSC and Blue Owl’s IC, Private Wealth, Marketing and other centralized functions.
  • Translate GPSC’s investment activities, portfolio developments and strategic priorities into coordinated client engagement plans.
  • Help ensure centralized client teams have the GPSC-specific knowledge, content and access needed to represent the business effectively.
  • Promote clear coordination, information sharing and alignment across GPSC and the broader Blue Owl platform.

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of relevant experience in institutional asset management, private markets, capital formation, client coverage, investor relations or a related role.
  • Significant prior experience working with sophisticated institutional investors and a strong understanding of how clients evaluate private-market strategies, managers and products.
  • Deep knowledge of private equity and alternative investments, including the ability to understand complex investment strategies, portfolios, products and transaction structures.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to translate investment activity, portfolio developments and business priorities into effective client engagement strategies and execution plans.
  • Exceptional strategic planning, organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to coordinate numerous concurrent initiatives and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance operating frameworks, improve processes and drive accountability across a complex organization.
  • Credibility and judgment to work effectively with senior investment, client and sales professionals and influence outcomes without relying on formal authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong judgment regarding client messaging, positioning and content.
  • Strong organizational leadership skills and experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented and interested in a senior role focused primarily on planning, coordination, management and execution rather than direct client coverage or individual sales production.
