As part of our commitment to safety, we are looking for a Specialist with an investigator’s mindset, skills, and curiosity, and an incident manager’s coordination, communication, and rigor. You will work closely with cross-functional partners across the company to quickly and professionally respond to urgent escalations, while balancing multiple responsibilities and competing priorities. You Will:
- Lead rapid investigations into critical and complex incidents, including those related to child safety, violent extremism, and other high-severity harms.
- Operate within a 24/7 on-call rotation and act as the primary point of contact for safety incidents across the company, including with senior leadership.
- Utilize internal tools, data analysis, and open-source intelligence techniques to gather evidence, establish facts, and conduct root cause analyses.
- Draft and deliver real-time, high-stakes communications to senior leadership regarding incident status, impact assessment, and mitigation efforts.
- Apply sound judgment in triage, lane assignment, escalation, and case closure.
- Develop, test, and maintain robust incident response playbooks for critical harms scenarios.
- Improve our investigative methods, operating processes, templates, and quality standards.
- Build trust with cross-functional partners and mentor others to strengthen our investigative capabilities.
You Have:
- 5+ years leading investigations, incident management, and/or policy enforcement on a technology platform.
- Demonstrated ability thriving in high-pressure, sensitive, and complex investigations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical and sensitive issues to executive audiences and non-technical partners.
- Fluency with data analysis, dashboards, and a range of investigation tools; familiarity with online safety considerations.
- Strong project management skills, prioritization acumen, and enthusiasm to build processes from the ground up.
- Demonstrated mentorship, informal leadership, and subject-matter expertise that helps other investigators grow.
- Outstanding judgment, discretion, collegiality, and resilience.
