About this job

About the Team

Superette is DoorDash’s award-winning in-house creative studio—a multi-disciplinary collective built to inspire, lead, and deliver culture-shaping work across every channel and touchpoint. Made up of creative directors, art directors, copywriters, editorial writers, growth creatives and designers, we exist to infuse creativity into every corner of the business and elevate it as a true driver of growth. Our mission is to build a brand people actually care about—one that shows up meaningfully, solves problems, earns its place in culture, and creates work that hits hard and sticks. Our studio is stacked with some of the best talent in the game, and our ambition is simple: raise the bar with every brief. In 2024, we were named the #2 in-house studio by The One Show and The Drum, and celebrated by Cannes Lions, Fast Company, and more.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Design Lead who can bridge brand storytelling with growth-focused design inside Superette, the Creative Studio at DoorDash. Leading a small but mighty team of designers as a player/coach, you’ll develop work that both drives conversion in the short term and builds brand equity in the long term.

You’ll be equally comfortable optimizing CRM and performance campaigns for measurable results as you are elevating DoorDash’s visual expression and design language. Partnering across Brand, Growth, and Marketing, you’ll deliver design that is strategically sharp, emotionally resonant, and unmistakably on-brand.

You’ll report to the Head of Design within Marketing, shaping how our studio integrates performance rigor with brand craft.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary design team, providing at least 2+ years of hands-on leadership experience.
  • Deliver creative that balances brand storytelling with growth performance across CRM, lifecycle, paid media, and campaigns.
  • Drive conversion-focused assets while ensuring alignment and maintaining consistency of visual identity with DoorDash’s brand standards and design language system.
  • Collaborate with program managers, marketers, and copywriters to turn insights into impactful creative.
  • Use data and insights to optimize creative while elevating emotional resonance and long-term equity.
  • Identify and experiment with new formats, storytelling techniques, AI-powered workflows, and design systems that expand how DoorDash shows up across touchpoints.
  • Champion AI adoption within the team by integrating tools that improve speed, scalability, and creative innovation.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in brand and growth design to evolve our creative impact.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional design experience spanning brand and growth marketing.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing and mentoring design teams.
  • Portfolio showcasing both brand-building work (campaigns, identity systems, storytelling) and growth-focused design (CRM, lifecycle, paid social, A/B testing).
  • Hands-on expertise creating impactful content across web, email, ads, presentations, and campaign assets.
  • Ability to articulate and defend strategic design decisions to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience translating complex business concepts into clear, compelling visuals.
  • Strong collaboration skills; thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Expertise with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (especially After Effects).
  • Background in technology, media, or digital advertising is a plus.
  • AI fluency - experience with adopting AI into creative processes
