Working closely with Government stakeholders, architects, engineers, and construction management teams, the Design Quality Manager coordinates multidisciplinary design reviews, identifies technical deficiencies, and supports the delivery of complete, coordinated, and constructible designs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide design quality oversight and technical reviews throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of federal construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, design narratives, and other technical deliverables for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Evaluate designs for compliance with applicable building codes, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), federal regulations, and Government design standards.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design reviews involving architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Identify design deficiencies, conflicts, constructability concerns, and technical risks; recommend corrective actions and track resolution.
  • Review design quality management plans, design review procedures, and quality control documentation to verify compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support design milestone reviews, including concept, schematic, design development, and final construction document submissions.
  • Coordinate with Government representatives, designers, project managers, and construction managers to address technical issues and maintain design quality.
  • Support constructability reviews, value engineering assessments, and evaluation of design changes to minimize cost, schedule, and construction impacts.
  • Prepare technical review comments, design quality reports, and recommendations to support Government decision-making.
  • Monitor resolution of design review comments and verify that required corrections are incorporated into subsequent design submissions.
  • Support the evaluation of design-related RFIs, submittals, modifications, and technical issues during construction.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience, including at least 5 years of relevant experience in design management, design quality assurance, multidisciplinary design reviews, or architectural and engineering project delivery.
  • Must possess at least one of the following professional licenses:

  • Experience identifying design deficiencies, resolving technical conflicts, and evaluating constructability and design risks.
  • Familiarity with federal construction standards, building codes, and applicable engineering and architectural practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Government stakeholders, architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary construction management teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with design review and document management software.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to satisfy applicable federal background investigation requirements.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience supporting Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), or similar federal construction and facilities programs.
  • Experience supporting Military Construction (MILCON), federal infrastructure modernization, or mission-critical facility projects.
