Job Description

Job Purpose

The  Director, Integrated Commercial Business Planning – AFH role is a newly crated leadership position that was designed to own and operate the commercial planning operating system across the Away From Home BU. The Director connects the brand and category teams across the Business Unit into a single planning cadence, holding the one demand number, and driving the decision rhythm that links demand, supply, and commercial plans into one trusted picture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and Implement the ICBP Process: In partnership with internal and external partners, build the ICBP teams and process from the ground up - designing routines, establishing governance, and launching the 2H pilot ahead of January 2027 go-live.
  • Change Management: Drive the behavior change and accountability needed across functions and levels to effectively stand up a critical new process and create long-term sustainable change
  • Operating Rhythm: Drive the weekly and monthly commercial planning cadence (Quarterly Delivery Management and Rolling Gap Management cycles) with discipline — pre-reads, minutes, and closed actions every cycle, without exception.
  • One Demand Number: Serve as the neutral custodian of a single, trusted demand number. Not a Finance overlay, not a fit-to-target exercise — the authoritative cross-BU view that the organization plans against.
  • Gap Management: Surface, frame, and close risks and opportunities in real time. Drive recommendations into the right forum and hold accountability until the loop is closed.
  • Strategic Planning Support: Lead select BU strategic projects including organic and inorganic opportunity assessment.
  • 3-Year Plan Enablement: Coordinate cross-BU milestones for the annual 3YP cycle, including governance meetings and progress on long-term business enablers.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Team (salaried): 2 directs.

Expected Experience & Required Skills

  • Experience in commercial planning, sales strategy, category/business planning, IBP/S&OP, or related commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering across Sales, Marketing, and Finance to align cross-functional plans.
  • Experience with formal business planning cycles (IBP, S&OP, AOP/1YP, or similar) preferred
  • Commercial background: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect demand, investment, financial and consumption drivers to business outcomes; comfortable working with revenue, volume, and margin data.
  • Project management: Strong organizational and planning skills; able to manage multiple complex workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders concurrently.
  • Digital savviness: Comfortable working with planning tools, dashboards, data analytics and AI platforms; curious about how digital tools and AI can streamline commercial planning.
  • Flexibility & comfort with ambiguity: Able to operate in a dynamic, fast-changing environment and adjust quickly as priorities and business conditions evolve.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into clear, decision-ready insights.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills: Ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and AI platforms; familiarity with planning/ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI) a plus.
