About the Role:
Motive is seeking a Director of Product to lead two of its highest-impact product areas, which together drive several hundred million dollars in revenue. Vehicle monitoring gives fleets real-time visibility into the location and status of every vehicle, which customers rely on to dispatch work, serve their own customers, and keep their businesses profitable. Compliance keeps drivers on the road and fleets within transportation regulations, protecting customers from fines, out-of-service orders, and safety risks. Together, these products sit at the center of how Motive customers run their operations every day.
You will lead a team of product managers and work across the company to deliver results. You will partner with sales on strategic enterprise deals and work with engineering leaders on complex technical tradeoffs. You will ground decisions in data and evidence and lead large-scale change initiatives across the organization.
This role requires a leader who sets clear priorities and delivers outsized impact with focused resources. As a player-coach, you will contribute directly to the work while developing and inspiring the broader team, beyond your direct reports.
This is a demanding, high-visibility role with significant scope and the opportunity to shape products that are central to Motive's business.
Hybrid work model - 2x a week in our SF Office.
What You’ll Do:
- Set the strategy and roadmap for vehicle monitoring and compliance, and own the outcomes: revenue, retention, reliability, and adoption.
- Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of product managers that delivers predictably.
- Partner with sales and customer success to win and retain large enterprise customers.
- Work with engineering leaders on architecture and platform tradeoffs, and make the final product decision when priorities conflict.
- Lead org-wide change programs across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
- Report on your area to executive leadership in the monthly business review, with clear metrics and direct recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of product management experience at companies recognized for product excellence.
- Deep experience building enterprise B2B SaaS products, including familiarity with complex sales cycles, multi-stakeholder buyers, and large-account retention.
- 3+ years managing product managers, with a track record of hiring, coaching, and developing PMs into leaders.
- A career trajectory that shows steadily increasing scope, responsibility, and impact.
- A rigorous, data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Technical depth to engage credibly with engineering leaders on architecture and platform decisions.
- Strong executive communication and the ability to influence across functions.
