  • Provide oversight and guidance to less experienced Vertex Consultants; contribute to the onboarding, training, and professional development of new team members.
  • Assist Consulting Business Development in developing Statements of Work; identify and deliver tax process solutions and value-added services that support Vertex's revenue and profit objectives.
  • Apply deep subject matter expertise in Vertex applications and at least one Vertex partner host application to design and configure effective, scalable implementation solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in Vertex Tax Technology implementations and project management, including strong knowledge of at least one Vertex partner host application.
  • In-depth tax application experience working with public accounting firms and/or Fortune 1000 companies in transaction tax, including multi-state and/or VAT environments.

  • Solid analytical, troubleshooting, presentation, and solution design skills; ability to evaluate complex implementation challenges and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build effective working relationships with client tax and IT stakeholders, third-party advisors, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; effective time management and adaptability under pressure.

  • Experience contributing to business development activities, including Statement of Work development or pre-sales support in a consulting environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field; equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
