About this job

About the Role

Join an early-stage legal technology team building AI-powered software for contract review and other legal workflows. As a founding product engineer, you will work closely with attorneys and AI engineers to turn real-world needs into reliable product features, while helping establish engineering practices as the team grows.

What You'll Do

  • Build and own full-stack product features, from data models and backend systems to interfaces used by attorneys and clients.

  • Partner with attorneys and AI engineers to translate legal workflows and review playbooks into production software.

  • Make pragmatic architecture and tooling decisions that support fast delivery and long-term maintainability.

  • Write reliable, maintainable code and take ownership of features through production deployment.

  • Help shape engineering standards, team culture, and hiring as the team expands.

  • Work directly with teammates to deliver a high-quality customer experience in a fast-moving environment.

What We're Looking For

  • 1 to 3 years of experience building and shipping production software, ideally at an early-stage company or as a founder.

  • Full-stack development skills, including TypeScript and React, a modern backend stack, and relational databases.

  • Hands-on experience building with AI or large language models, through professional work or personal projects.

  • Experience owning features end-to-end and making sound engineering trade-offs under time constraints.

  • Strong product instincts, communication, and judgment, with the ability to work through ambiguity and take ownership.

  • Legal technology, contract management, document processing, or work with attorneys or other domain experts is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $140,000 to $180,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
