About this job
About Omni
Omni is the AI analytics platform that turns company data into a trusted source of truth for AI. Built on a semantic model, Omni gives teams a governed context graph, so everyone gets the same trusted answer. Ask in plain English, refine in workbooks, or bring your data into tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Slack.
Our team has spent decades building data platforms, and we started Omni to fix problems we saw firsthand. Today, we help customers like Condé Nast, BambooHR, and Synthesia get better answers from their data. We're headquartered in San Francisco and have raised $217M from top investors including ICONIQ, Theory Ventures, and Redpoint Ventures. Our latest $120M Series C valued us at $1.5B.
If you like helping people get more from their data, come build with us. We’d love to hear from you.
The Role
We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to set the technical direction for data visualization at Omni. You'll draw on your data viz experience to shape how customers see and interact with their data, working closely with our Product Manager, who also comes from a data viz background, and the engineers currently building in this area. You'll also design and build the visualization components and data pipelines behind that work.

Set technical direction and North Star for Omni's data visualization capabilities
Partner with the Product Manager and engineering team to translate viz strategy into shipped features
Bring industry best practices and experience to raise the bar on visualization quality and performance
Design and build front-end visualization components and the underlying data pipelines that power them
Mentor and technically guide engineers already working on the visualization work stream
Move quickly and ship iteratively, refining based on customer feedback
Use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) to maximize velocity and focus on the highest-leverage technical work
About You
5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years operating at a senior level
Deep, demonstrable experience in data visualization, ideally with industry recognition or a strong portfolio of shipped visualization work
Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript
Experience with data or business intelligence tools or applications (e.g., SQL, Looker, Tableau, Mode, Amplitude, Google Analytics)
Demonstrated ability to set technical vision and influence a team without requiring formal authority
Proficiency with AI coding tools and workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
Nice to Haves
Startup experience
Experience building data products
Familiarity with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
Background in data viz research or academic work
