GRVTY is seeking an Imagery Scientist to join our Charlottesville, VA team. The candidate will work alongside community experts to advance applications within the field of persistent infrared remote sensing. • Conduct 2nd and 3rd phase exploitation of OPIR and other EO/IR sensor data to detect, track, and characterize events in support of ground forces intelligence requirements
  • Review OPIR processed data, sensor metadata, and collection geometry to determine data quality
  • Fuse OPIR with EO, SAR, MSI/HSI, and multi-INT reporting into finished GEOINT and MASINT products
  • Author and review reports, graphics, and briefings for analysts, leadership, and customers, matching technical depth to the audience
  • Help draft and prioritize collection requirements and coordinate with collection managers and mission partners on coverage for planned events and emerging targets
  • Support field tests and data collections

What You Must Have

  • U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance, or an active Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI
  • OPIR analysis experience at one of the following levels:
  • Mid: Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience (military or agency training may substitute for a degree)
  • Senior: Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, including leading analysis or mentoring analysts
  • Hands-on exploitation of OPIR or other infrared sensor data for intelligence production
  • Working knowledge of IR phenomenology, including sensor resolution, sensitivity, and the strengths and limits of persistent overhead collection
  • Proficiency with standard GEOINT and MASINT tools such as ArcGIS, ENVI, SOCET GXP, or RemoteView
  • Strong written and briefing skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

What Would be Nice to Have

  • Prior support to NGIC, NASIC, NGA, MDA, or another DoD or IC production center.
  • Knowledge of TIV, PIV, AFAST
  • Degree in physics, engineering, remote sensing, or another STEM field
  • Python or MATLAB for data handling, analysis, and visualization
  • Familiarity with signature-modeling codes, radiometric calibration, or sensor performance analysis
  • Experience with SAR, MSI/HSI, or LiDAR exploitation in addition to IR
  • Exposure to AI/ML-enabled workflows, data labeling, or model evaluation
