About this job
At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader — we’re changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.
Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work — every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.
Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.
About the role & team
You will be part of the central BU Authenticity Guarantee (AG) Centre of Excellence within eBay’s GFC organisation, helping strengthen the AG proposition and scale shared capabilities.
As Manager, AG Strategy & Operations, you will report to the Director, AG Strategy & Operations. You will help examine and refine the cross-category strategy, develop cases, and own initiatives from analysis through implementation. This is a hands-on role requiring structured thinking, operational understanding, and accountability for delivery—not just recommendations.
You will work closely alongside category divisions, which own category initiatives and commercial outcomes, and AuthOps, which manages authentication operations.
What you will accomplish
- AG Strategy & Proposition: Lead analyses to inform the cross-category AG strategy, customer promise, and shared roadmap. Develop recommendations for common experience standards and commercial guardrails, balancing consistency with category-specific needs.
- Develop arguments with category, finance, product, and AuthOps partners to assess customer value, economics, operational feasibility, and encouraged returns. Help build consistent processes for evaluating and prioritising opportunities.
- Hands-On Execution: Own assigned cross-category initiatives from planning through delivery, with clear achievements and accountability. Spend time in AG centres to understand workflows, customer problems, and operational constraints, translating insights into practical improvements with category teams and AuthOps.
- Performance & Scalable Processes: Build and maintain critical metrics, performance reporting, and reusable launch and expansion playbooks. Track results against cases and agreed targets, identify gaps, and help scale successful approaches across categories and markets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Work across category teams, product, engineering, marketing, AuthOps, and other functions to align priorities and drive delivery. Resolve dependencies, surface decisions requiring leadership input, and communicate clear recommendations and progress.
What you will bring
- Strategy & problem-solving: Experience in management consulting, strategy, business operations, or a related role, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop practical recommendations.
- Analytical & commercial skills: Hands-on experience with data analysis, financial modelling, or business-case development, translating customer insights and business economics into actionable recommendations.
- Execution & ownership: A track record of driving projects beyond analysis into implementation. A hands-on approach to understanding operations, solving problems, and delivering results, including willingness to travel to AG centres.
- Collaboration & communication: Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with experience influencing collaborators without direct authority and creating executive-ready materials. Experience in marketplaces, eCommerce, or customer trust is preferred; direct authentication experience is a plus.
Why join us
Help shape AG across eBay, joining a new team that connects customer trust with commercial growth and delivers improvements across categories and markets.
At eBay, our customers are our compass. We foster a culture where authenticity thrives, bold ideas are encouraged, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work.
