About this job
Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.
Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.
Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.
If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
The Role:
Hadrian's welding team is building out our weld development center and is looking for dedicated mechanical engineering support. As an R&D Engineer supporting welding, you'll work side by side with welding engineers and welders in a development environment to design tooling, parts/coupons, and fixtures, support equipment buys and setup, and close the gap between weld development and production. This is a hands-on, in-person role split between design and the shop floor, not a design-desk-only position.
What You’ll Do
Support welding equipment needs for weld development, including CAD support for buying and setting up new equipment
Develop concepts for automation, tooling, fixtures, and development parts
Work directly with welding engineers and welders to weld actual parts in a development setting
Bridge the gap between automation, tooling, and welding by translating development needs into tooled-up, automatable processes
Coordinate across Build, Software, Tooling, Automation, and NDT to keep weld development unblocked
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
2+ years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical design
Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent) and working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
Comfort with shop-floor tooling, fixtures, and metrology
Exposure to machining, assembly, welding, additive, and inspection processes
What Will Set You Apart
Prior hands-on welding or weld process experience
Experience designing tooling or fixtures for automated or robotic welding cells
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and requirements
A track record of thriving in an undefined, first-of-its-kind role
Benefits for Full-time Employees
Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
401kRelocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.
Flexible vacation policy
Equity
