WHAT YOU'LL DO
Vox Media is seeking a Post-Production Supervisor to serve as the core driver of post-production operations for the branded content division of Vox and New York Magazine. Reporting to the Director, Creative Production, you will lead end-to-end post operations in managing project schedules, engaging freelance editors and post-production vendors, and guaranteeing that all deliverables, from social content to still photography and long-form video, meet our high-quality standards and deadlines. Collaborating closely with Creative Directors and Producers, you will optimize post workflows and implement efficient operational practices. Serving as the ultimate steward of the production pipeline, you will work hand-in-hand with creative teams through final delivery, taking pride in delivering polished, high-caliber final assets.
Crew and Vendor Support
- Resource and assign editors, colorists, retouchers, and sound mixers per campaign based on availability, budget, edit style, and Creative Director input
- Onboard external support and manage timely payment and budget tracking
- Build and maintain a vetted roster of post-production resources, staying current on new talent and tools in the field
Schedule and Workflow Management
- Manage post-production tracker and calendar, finding automation efficiencies to improve workflow
- Approve and oversee post-production timelines for all active campaigns
- Confirm schedule feasibility with editors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Establish and maintain technical workflows for media, dailies, and archival/stock footage
- Track licensed assets across campaign deliverables such as royalty-free stock and music
- Track physical hard drives sent to and from editors or other post support
- Set up and manage campaign-specific post-production Slack channels with all associated resources
- Work alongside management to track and distribute post resources, including Frame.io, stock and library logins, and subscriptions
Delivery and Quality Control
- Archive and back up all raw media files, edit versions and project files from campaigns into Lucid link
- Enforce file-naming conventions and delivery specs across video and photo outputs
- Work in tandem with the Design team to ensure graphics and animations are incorporated efficiently and on time
- Review every cut and photo asset alongside Creative and Production for color, retouching quality, and spec compliance before client review
Leadership and Process
- Guide the overall team in adopting efficient workflows and media-management practices
- Develop and maintain SOPs for post-production to keep output consistent as the team scales
- Own budget tracking and vendor invoicing across active post-production work alongside Production
- Stay current on post-production tools and platforms, leading adoption of new tools that improve speed or quality
WHO YOU ARE
- 4-6 years of experience managing post-production in branded content, media, or an agency environment
- Deep understanding of digital production workflows across both video and photo post
- Experience managing production budgets, timecard approvals, vendor invoicing, and payment tracking
- Fluency with Frame.io and asset/production-tracking platforms (Airtable or similar)
- Experience building and maintaining SOPs or process documentation for a scaling team
- Solid grasp of the legal side of post-production, including copyright, licensing, and clearance procedures for third-party content
- Strong people-management instincts, with the ability to anticipate roadblocks and conflicts before they arise
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical post-production concepts for non-technical stakeholders
