Job Description

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role can be based in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Chicago or New York.

We are seeking a Principal Content Marketing Manager to shape how LinkedIn Learning Career Hub builds authority, delivers value to talent leaders, and connects its strongest insights, customer stories, product innovation, and expertise through an integrated content ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned content strategist with exceptional editorial judgment who can identify the conversations where LinkedIn has a meaningful perspective to contribute, translate complex ideas into compelling narratives, and build audience-first content strategies that drive engagement and measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop audience-first content marketing strategies that connect business priorities, customer needs, market insights, thought leadership, and product narratives across the LinkedIn Talent Solutions portfolio.
  • Identify and shape distinctive editorial territories where LinkedIn can contribute a credible point of view, build sustained authority, and create value for talent and business decision-makers.
  • Translate complex topics related to talent, learning, skills, work, and AI into clear, compelling narratives and content experiences across web, editorial, social, video, email, executive, and partner channels.
  • Build integrated content programs that connect flagship thought leadership, customer stories, product narratives, executive perspectives, and always-on content into a cohesive ecosystem rather than a series of standalone assets.
  • Create strategic briefs, editorial frameworks, and content plans that align Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications, Brand, Creative, Lifecycle Marketing, and agency partners around shared audience and business objectives.
  • Develop scalable approaches for translating research, customer insight, subject-matter expertise, and existing intellectual property into multiple high-value formats and experiences.
  • Partner with executives, customers, creators, and subject-matter experts to uncover differentiated perspectives and develop credible, engaging thought leadership and market storytelling.
  • Evolve content strategy for an AI-driven discovery environment, applying modern search, content architecture, structured content, and emerging optimization practices to improve visibility, authority, and audience value.
  • Define success metrics, evaluate content performance, and use audience signals and business data to continuously improve editorial priorities, content investments, and distribution strategies.
  • Champion AI-first ways of working, using AI and agentic workflows to accelerate research, insight development, content creation, optimization, measurement, and operational efficiency while maintaining strong human judgment and editorial standards.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial strategy, thought leadership, brand storytelling, journalism, communications, or related disciplines.
  • Experience developing audience-first content strategies and integrated editorial programs across multiple channels and formats.
  • Experience translating complex business, technology, or market topics into clear, engaging narratives for senior audiences.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across multiple teams without formal authority.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional editorial judgment, writing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to identify ideas that are distinctive, relevant, and valuable to an audience.
  • Experience developing thought leadership, research-driven content, executive content, customer storytelling, or recurring editorial programs.
  • Experience marketing SaaS, HR technology, talent, learning, AI, or enterprise software solutions.
  • Experience designing integrated content architectures and audience journeys across owned, earned, social, executive, creator, and partner channels, with a clear approach to content distribution, amplification, and reuse.
  • Deep understanding of modern content discovery and distribution, including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), content architecture, structured content, and evolving AI-driven search and discovery behaviors.
  • Experience using audience research, performance data, and customer insights to guide editorial decisions and demonstrate business impact.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and execution levels, from defining an editorial opportunity to shaping and improving the resulting content.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking, intellectual curiosity, and comfort navigating ambiguity in a complex organization.
  • Experience applying AI, automation, and emerging technologies across content research, development, optimization, personalization, and measurement, with a strong understanding of where human editorial judgment and subject-matter expertise remain critical.

Suggested Skills

  • Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership
  • Audience Strategy & Content Ecosystems
  • Strategic Storytelling & Thought Leadership
  • Content Distribution & Organic Discovery
  • AI-Enabled Content Strategy & Innovation
