About Arize AI
Arize AI is an AI observability and evaluation platform helping teams build, evaluate, and improve AI applications and agents. From development through production, Arize gives AI engineering teams the tools to understand how their systems perform, identify failures, and continuously improve their applications.
Our ecosystem includes Arize AX, our managed platform for AI observability and evaluations, and Phoenix, our open-source platform built for AI engineers.
About the Role
We're looking for a Director of Content & Editorial to lead how Arize educates, engages, and builds trust with the AI engineering community.
The AI engineering market is moving quickly. Developers are building increasingly sophisticated agents, enterprises are deploying AI into production, and teams are looking for practical guidance on how to evaluate, observe, and improve these systems.
Arize is at the center of these conversations. We have deep technical expertise, strong engineering perspectives, and a growing ecosystem of builders using our products.
Your job is to turn that expertise into content that people genuinely want to read, watch, share, and learn from.
This is a hands-on editorial leadership role. We're not looking for someone who only manages a content calendar or delegates writing. We need an exceptional writer and editor who can develop a content strategy, work directly with technical subject matter experts, produce outstanding content, and build a scalable editorial program.
You'll own Arize's editorial direction across technical education, industry thought leadership, product storytelling, executive perspectives, and customer content.
What You'll Do
Own content and editorial strategy
- Develop and execute a content strategy that builds Arize's authority in AI observability, agent evaluations, and the broader AI engineering ecosystem.
- Establish clear editorial priorities for developers, AI engineering teams, AI product leaders, and enterprise technology buyers.
- Build and manage an editorial calendar across technical blogs, educational guides, thought leadership, customer stories, newsletters, and other content formats.
- Identify emerging industry trends and develop distinctive editorial perspectives that position Arize as a trusted voice.
- Maintain high standards for technical accuracy, clarity, originality, and editorial quality.
Create technically credible content
- Personally write, edit, and produce high-quality technical and strategic content.
- Partner directly with engineers, researchers, PMMs, DevRel, and executives to develop content grounded in practical experience.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, useful material without oversimplifying them.
- Develop technical tutorials, explainers, deep dives, and educational resources that help developers solve real problems.
- Build original content around product innovation, engineering insights, and emerging approaches to agent evaluation and observability.
Build thought leadership and industry authority
- Work closely with Arize's founders and technical leaders to develop original perspectives on the future of AI engineering.
- Identify opportunities for industry commentary, research, opinion pieces, and technical thought leadership.
- Partner with Marketing and DevRel to amplify important ideas through publications, social channels, podcasts, speaking opportunities, and community engagement.
- Develop content that earns attention and credibility rather than relying on promotional messaging.
Partner on SEO, AEO, and content distribution
- Collaborate with Growth and SEO/AEO to identify high-value topics, content gaps, and opportunities to improve search and AI-answer visibility.
- Own the editorial quality and development of content designed to support organic discovery.
- Refresh and improve existing content to maintain relevance, accuracy, and authority.
- Build distribution strategies that extend the reach of high-value content across web, email, social, and partner channels.
- Use performance data and audience feedback to inform editorial decisions.
Build a scalable content operation
- Manage freelance writers, editors, and other external content resources.
- Develop clear editorial workflows that enable consistent, high-quality publishing.
- Establish effective processes for working with technical subject matter experts.
- Prioritize content based on audience value, strategic relevance, and business impact.
- Partner across the marketing organization to support campaigns, launches, events, and major company initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in content, editorial, technical writing, or content marketing, including ownership of editorial strategy.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating technical depth and clear thinking.
- Experience producing content for developers, engineers, or highly technical B2B audiences.
- Strong understanding of AI development, developer tooling, cloud infrastructure, or related technical markets.
- Proven ability to interview technical experts and turn complex ideas into authoritative content.
- Experience building editorial programs across multiple formats and distribution channels.
- Understanding of SEO and how editorial content contributes to organic discoverability.
- Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or small editorial teams.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to balance technical credibility, audience interests, and business priorities.
- Comfortable operating as both a strategic leader and an individual contributor.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on familiarity with LLM applications, AI agents, agent evaluations, and observability.
- Experience at an AI infrastructure or developer tools company.
- Experience writing technical tutorials or documentation-adjacent educational content.
- Experience developing executive thought leadership and original research.
- Familiarity with open-source communities and developer-led adoption.
- Understanding of AEO and how content earns visibility in AI-generated answers.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 6–12 months, you'll have:
- Established a distinctive, technically credible editorial voice for Arize.
- Built a consistent publishing program with clear strategic priorities.
- Produced technical content that engineers trust and return to.
- Increased the reach and engagement of Arize's thought leadership and educational content.
- Worked with Growth to increase organic content contribution to qualified traffic and acquisition.
- Built a reliable network of technical contributors and freelance resources.
