About this job
At Evolve, we’re on a mission to make vacation rental easy for everyone. Our high-performing, customer-obsessed team runs on curiosity, communication, and accountability—working together to create exceptional experiences for our owners and guests. Whether solving big challenges, delivering outstanding results, or celebrating wins, we approach every day with purpose and passion. If you’re ready to join a mission-driven company where every teammate has the opportunity to thrive, Evolve might just be the place for you.
Why this role
Evolve is on a mission to make vacation rental easy for everyone, and that starts with the homeowners who trust us with their properties. Signing with Evolve is only the start. Before an owner earns a dollar, their home has to be set up, photographed, permitted, priced and listed — and every one of those steps is a place where owners stall or drop off.
As Principal Product Manager for Activation, you'll own that journey, from signed agreement to a live, bookable listing. You'll be measured on how many owners go live, how quickly, and whether they're still with us six months later — not just on activation volume. The levers are known and largely unowned today: property setup, photo scheduling, permits and compliance, rates, and multi-property onboarding. Your job is to turn them into a roadmap and move the number.
The team
Growth owns Evolve's owner-acquisition funnel, from first impression through qualified lead and signup, and all of our marketing. This role extends Growth's product work past signup into activation, working side by side with the Onboarding team that runs the process today.
What you’ll do
- Strategy & Roadmap
- Own the product roadmap from signed agreement to a live, bookable listing, with activation rate, time to live and 180-day retained activations as the measures of success
- Find where owners stall — property setup, photo scheduling, permits, rates, multi-property onboarding — and decide what to fix first and how
- Build & Experiment
- Ship product changes that take manual steps out of onboarding, from self-serve setup to automated scheduling and reminders
- Run experiments end to end: write the hypothesis, scope the build, measure the result, make the call
- Own activation instrumentation with analytics, so every step from signup to live can be measured by cohort
- Partnership
- Work closely with Onboarding and Operations, who run the process today, to change the system underneath it rather than adding more manual work
- Partner with Lifecycle Marketing on the onboarding journey and with the Funnel Conversion PM on the handoff at signup
- Talk to owners — single-property and portfolio — and turn what you learn into product decisions
What makes you a great fit
- 8+ years of product management, with meaningful time owning onboarding, activation or time-to-value
- Experience in a two-sided marketplace or operations-heavy business, ideally on the supply or seller side
- A track record of moving activation, conversion or early retention metrics, with the experiments to show for it
- Experience partnering with operations or field teams to automate manual processes
- Strong SQL and hands-on with product analytics tools like Amplitude — you build your own funnels and cohorts
- Comfortable at the spec level with engineers, and able to take products from discovery through launch and iteration
- AI-native working style — you use tools like Claude or Cursor in your daily work for specs, research synthesis and analysis; this is a baseline here, not a differentiator
- Nice to have: experience with compliance-heavy or regulated onboarding (permits, licensing or credentialing), with vacation rental, real estate, hospitality or property management, and with multi-property or business customers alongside individual ones
Compensation
Annual base salary range: $190,000 - $210,000 depending on relevant experience. This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance.
Location
All Evolve team members must live in one of our approved locations by their first day. We can hire from anywhere in the U.S. except D.C. and Hawaii. Some positions may also have restrictions based on compensation in the following states: California, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Washington.
