About this job

About Aurora Solar

Aurora is on a mission to create a future of solar for all. Our award-winning software puts the power of data and technology into the hands of every solar professional to make solar adoption simple and predictable. Our software has designed millions of solar projects so far, empowering solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays accurately, seamlessly, and at scale.

We’ve been named one of "The Best Remote Companies" by BuiltIn.com and have been recognized for the second time as a Certified Green Business (CGB) with the city of San Francisco. We’re in this together to support the world’s transition to solar.

About the Team

The Product Marketing team at Aurora Solar crafts powerful positioning, messaging, and enablement to drive customer acquisition, retention, and expansion. We are the voice of the customer internally and the voice of the product externally. From product strategy to launch, our primary focus is to ensure that our solutions are positioned optimally in the market.

About the Role

As our next Product Marketing Manager, you will be the go-to expert on key parts of our residential solar sales and design solutions and a confident generalist across the rest. You will develop a deep understanding of our buyers, our product, and the market. That means staying ahead of the industry trends shaping how installers sell and design, from policy and incentive changes to shifts in financing, storage adoption, and homeowner expectations. You’ll also keep a close eye on the competitive landscape, competitor developments and continuously refine our key differentiators.

You’ll use that knowledge to shape the strategies and tactics that deliver the most value to customers. You will guide go-to-market strategy and activities for new features, sharpen the product narrative against alternatives, and create compelling content for internal and external activations. This is a highly collaborative role with meaningful impact at the intersection of Marketing, Product, Sales, and Account Management while being a trusted voice on where we stand in the market and why we win.

Your Impact

  • Become a subject-matter expert on key parts of Aurora’s sales and design solutions, informing go-to-market strategy, roadmap, and campaigns to drive growth

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to ensure our solutions remain differentiated and relevant

  • Monitor the competitive landscape and competitor moves, continually refining our key differentiators and how we position against alternatives

  • Create positioning, messaging, and product narratives that speak to customer needs at each stage of the buyer journey

  • Build and amplify compelling content for key enablement assets such as customer-facing presentations, buyer’s guides, battlecards, product collateral, solution guides, return on investment models, customer testimonials, etc.

  • Manage product launch campaigns by formulating and implementing the go-to-market strategy for new product segments and features, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Enablement) to establish messaging, positioning, pricing, demos, and packaging

  • Measure and analyze the success of marketing campaigns, launches, product adoption, and messaging by analyzing important data, capturing feedback, and making data-driven recommendations for improvement

  • Partner with Marketing to drive pipeline through marketing campaigns, thought influence, content marketing, webinars, events, and more

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of combined experience in product marketing, marketing, product management, or the residential solar industry (sales, design, or operations), with exposure to B2B software go-to-market

  • Understanding of how to bring new products or features to market, or direct experience doing so, across multiple audiences, such as decision-makers and day-to-day users, or businesses of different sizes

  • A strong instinct for what’s happening in the market and why it matters, plus an interest in turning trends and competitor moves into clear differentiation

  • A strategic, structured problem solver who uses quantitative and qualitative data to shape new ideas and initiatives that drive business growth

  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and customers, and enjoys being the connective tissue between Product, Sales, Marketing, and Account Management

  • An excellent storyteller, writer, and presenter who can turn industry and product complexity into clear, engaging positioning and narratives

  • Resourceful and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly organized and self-directed

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

Nice to Haves

  • Residential solar experience, especially in sales, design, or installation. We highly value firsthand knowledge on how installers sell and design, and will weigh it alongside traditional product marketing experience

  • Experience launching product integrations or running co-marketing campaigns with technology and channel partners

  • Familiarity with design and engineering software, or with the tools installers use to sell and design solar

  • Experience with Claude, Pendo, Salesforce, Snowflake, and/or Looker
