ABOUT THE TEAM
Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) delivers autonomous aircraft, advanced effects, and mission autonomy software. Program Finance partners with Program Management, Engineering, Operations, and Contracts to ensure program execution translates into predictable financial outcomes—through disciplined forecasting, contract-compliant reporting, and decision-quality analytics as programs scale from development into production and sustainment.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Manager, Program Finance, you will own end-to-end financial leadership for a single or several complex Commercial and U.S. Government / DoD programs across multiple contract types (e.g., CPFF/FFP/T&M). You will lead and support the operating cadence for program financial management—Product costing, Capital deployment, EAC rigor, funding/billing discipline, and leadership-ready insights—and scale the processes, tooling, and talent needed to support rapid growth. There are multiple skillsets that can be successful in this role, with a few examples: Development background with EVMS knowledge, Production with manufacturing finance experience, and sustainment backgrounds also appreciated.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own program financial performance for a single or several complex commercial and government contracts across different contract types; drive predictable outcomes from award through execution and closeout.
- Lead EAC and forecast governance: set standards, build/maintain EACs, drive variance/root-cause analysis, and manage risk/opportunity tracking with mitigation actions.
- Partner deeply with Program Management and Contracts on CLIN structure, funding, burn, billing/invoicing, contract modifications, and required program financial reporting.
- Lead monthly FP&A forecasting process with a focus on understanding program changes that drive financial changes.
- Drive production and unit-economics insights: margin and COGS analysis, inventory and working-capital impacts, production variances, and cost-reduction opportunities with Ops/Supply Chain.
- Support planning deliverables (AOP/LRP) for your program(s): consolidate bottoms-up program outlooks (revenue, cost, margin, working capital) and align to leadership commitments.
- Operate performance management (EVM where applicable): support baseline management and interpret key variances (CV/SV/CPI/SPI); prepare content for internal/external reviews and audits.
- Build scalable processes and tooling: standard templates, dashboards, models, and mechanisms that improve speed, accuracy, and governance as program volume increases.
- Communicate clearly to leadership: deliver crisp narratives and decision memos for Autonomous Airpower leadership and Division Finance.
- Hire and develop talent: manage and mentor analysts; set standards for analytical quality, documentation, controls, and stakeholder management.
- Ad-hoc analysis for Business Cases and other studies, with understanding of broader impacts to financial results
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to navigate the financial complexities of scaling from development into production, ensuring cost structures, forecasts, and investment cases evolve alongside the business
- Experience supporting a hardware or technology business through production transitions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Demonstrated ownership of EAC development and forecasting discipline, including proactive risk identification and corrective action follow-through.
- Working knowledge of government contracting fundamentals (e.g., FAR/DFARS concepts) and strong partnership instincts with Contracts and Program Management.
- Experience supporting manufacturing/production finance (COGS, inventory, variances, unit economics) in a hardware or production environment.
- Advanced Excel/modeling skills; strong systems orientation (ERP + reporting/tooling).
- Track record of leading cross-functional workstreams with Program, Engineering, Ops, and Contracts stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Program EAC finance
- Scaling from an idea (IRAD) to full rate Production
- FAR knowledge or DAU Financial Management certification and/or PMP.
- Experience with EVM tools (e.g., Deltek Cobra) and program scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).
- Experience scaling finance processes in a high-growth environment (templates, workflows, controls, and training).
