Role

We are looking for a Senior Director, Investor Relations & Strategic Finance to join our team. This is a Hybrid role reporting to the SVP of Investor Relations & Strategic Finance in the Finance department. This is an opportunity for a high-conviction finance leader who wants true ownership to translate our category-defining "Zero Trust" platform vision into a powerful investment thesis, build strong technical and financial credibility with the investment community, and systematically expand our network of institutional investors globally. You will be a key thought partner with the SVP and work in close partnership with the broader team.

What You’ll Do (Role Expectations)

  • Architect the Financial Narrative: Partner directly with the SVP and cross-functional team to author and continuously refine a compelling, forward-looking narrative that highlights our company strategy, platform value, and operational growth levers to ensure a fair market valuation. This includes drafting quarterly earnings scripts, Q&A, and other investor-facing materials. You will steer the market’s focus toward our long-term "Platform" value proposition and the drivers powering our growth.
  • Drive Outbound IR: Proactively manage and cultivate high-trust relationships with sell-side analysts and institutional investors. Tell the Zscaler story to existing and prospective investors in a compelling, yet credible fashion to demystify complex technical structures and share our long-term vision, in order to attract new and retain existing long-term investors.
  • Drive Global Investor Targeting: Prioritize proactive investor targeting to identify and build relationships with prospective institutional shareholders who do not yet own company stock, while effectively utilizing management’s time to focus on the highest priorities.
  • Deliver High-Impact Investor-Facing Events: Collaborate on design and execution of our annual Investor Day, investor sessions at customer conferences, marketing roadshows, and conference schedules
  • Develop a Strong Feedback Loop: Deliver real-time investor sentiment and feedback to executives in partnership with the team, from investor conversations and market developments.
  • Cross-Functional Strategic Finance: Support high-impact corporate development and strategic finance initiatives including M&A due diligence and long-range planning.

Who You Are (Success Profile)

  • You adapt to ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it and see ambiguity as the raw material to build something meaningful.
  • You are customer-obsessed. You build deep empathy for internal and external customers, anchoring your decisions in solving their real-world problems.
  • You operate with urgency. You understand that speed and quality are not mutually exclusive, delivering high-impact results quickly.
  • You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, embracing a challenge culture with clear, respectful ongoing feedback.
  • You are data-driven. You use data and analytics to find the truth, measure what matters, and guide informed decisions.
  • You are driven by innovation. You have a deep curiosity for how things work and are energized by solving complex technical challenges. You believe in the power of technology to accelerate transformation and are always looking for a better, more secure, and scalable way.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience positioning AI-driven product pipelines, as well as utilizing modern analytics tools to optimize IR workflows
  • 12+ years of relevant experience combining Investment Banking or Sell-Side Research with in-house Investor Relations at a high-growth, public SaaS or enterprise software company
  • Cybersecurity & SaaS Fluency: Strong understanding of cybersecurity architectures, cloud infrastructure, and subscription-based financial models
  • Advanced Valuation & Modeling Depth: Strong financial modeling skills with the capability to confidently discuss valuation frameworks and capital allocation strategies with seasoned institutional analysts
  • Academic Foundation and interest in markets: BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and interest in how equity markets operate and what drives stocks.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Established Wall Street Network: Existing, high-trust relationships with cybersecurity, software, or infrastructure analysts and buy-side portfolio managers
  • Credentials: CFA designation
  • Predictive AI for IR: Experience leveraging predictive AI, advanced sentiment analysis tools, or quantitative modeling to optimize investor targeting and track consensus sentiment in real-time
