Whether you're in a stadium, airplane, or remote military base, Ditto's peer-to-peer sync engine ensures devices stay connected and data stays consistent, even without internet. With more than $145 million in funding and trusted by organizations like Chick-fil-A, Delta Airlines, and the U.S. military, Ditto powers mission-critical experiences across aviation, retail, travel, hospitality, defense, and more. As a globally distributed, fast-growing startup, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects the wide range of perspectives needed to solve the world’s hardest connectivity problems.

About the Position

The Senior IT Systems Engineer will be focused on increasing automation across Ditto’s IT operations. They will be responsible for building infrastructure as code, monitoring and managing core IT services.

This role will require approximately 30% of their time in help desk support, but the goal is to automate that away. Ditto is a highly technical and sophisticated work force capable of self helping if given the systems to do so. One of the main goals of this role is to build the automations to enable this.

While this is a remote position, it is only for the Atlanta area. There will be an expectation to make trips to the office for special projects or troubleshooting, but there is no expectation for regularly working out of the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own converting the configuration management for key services to infrastructure as code. This will mean understanding the business needs and processes around the service, required approvers and approval workflows and how to capture these requirements in technical controls.

  • One of the first big projects will be converting a GitHub instance to use Enterprise Managed Users with a Terraform driven configuration workflow.

  • Triaging and prioritizing automation projects based on statistics gathered through our ITSM.

  • Working with the security team to implement new security controls, apply system hardening and monitoring.

  • Documenting system run books and inventory.

What You'll Need

  • 6+ years of relevant experience

  • US Citizenship and the ability to get clearance

  • An eye for quality, correctness, scale and consistency

  • Interested in the process and procedures on how things get done, not just getting it done

  • Strong experience in Terraform with the ability to implement new workflows and train others

  • Experience with FleetDM and building policies and reports to detect and prevent issues

  • Experience in macOS and Linux desktop support and troubleshooting

  • A history of defining and automating manual IT processes

  • Strong understanding of identity management including SAML, OIDC, and SCIM

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in Okta administration

  • Strong scripting skills in at least one common programming language such as Python

  • Experience working in government or defense under CMMC, FedRAMP or similar regulatory environments

  • Datadog experience and the ability to build dashboards and alerts

  • Background in managing AWS, GCP or similar cloud provider

  • Experience in Nix

  • Experience with Tracecat or an equivalent SOAR

Apply Anyway

At Ditto, we know game-changers don’t always come wrapped in a “perfect” resume. Years of experience? Every single bullet point checked? Meh. That’s not what drives us.

So if you’re fired up about our mission but not sure you tick every box - hit that apply button anyway. Use your application to show us how you’ll make an impact here.
