About this job

About the Team

DoorDash’s mission is to grow and empower local economies. By building intelligent, last-mile delivery technology for local cities, DoorDash connects people with the local businesses they care about — helping grow businesses and the communities that support those businesses.

To help further that mission, the B2B Marketing team is responsible for helping Merchants,  Advertisers, and businesses find the right DoorDash products and services to grow. We do this by building lasting relationships with our B2B audiences through personalized, scalable, cross-channel experiences that drive retention and engagement. We take pride in being the trusted advisor to our Advertisers and DoorDash for Business customers, and their prominent advocate to our cross-functional partners — navigating them through every step of their DoorDash journey and empowering them with the right, personalized resources, education, and suite of solutions to maximize their business, at scale.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager of Retention Marketing for Ads and DoorDash for Business (DDFB), you will lead a team of Marketers responsible for marketing communications with Advertisers and DDFB customers via owned CRM channels (email, push, SMS, and in-app) that provide education, information and tools to empower their success on DoorDash. For Ads, you will drive awareness and adoption of the Ads & Promotions product suite across SMB, Enterprise, and CPG advertisers. For DDFB, you will drive adoption and activation of the DoorDash for Business suite among company administrators and their employees (B2B2C). Both are new and fast-growing businesses, so this is a chance to build from the ground up and own a “mini startup” within a wildly successful organization, leading a team that strategically leverages every touchpoint to deepen these customers’ relationships with DoorDash and support their long-term success.

You will collaborate with fellow leaders across the Ads and DDFB organizations to continually hone the vision for Ads and DDFB Retention Marketing and then translate it into near and longer-term functional roadmaps that your team brings to life. You will build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and deliver on shared business goals. You will be the key advocate for Ads and DDFB Retention Marketing needs, including Marketing Technology, Product, and Analytics needs.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Own the full CRM lifecycle strategy for Advertisers and DoorDash for Business customers, including onboarding, activation, product adoption, and churn mitigation, with personalization frameworks tailored to each audience (SMB, Enterprise, and CPG advertisers for Ads; administrators and their end users for DDFB)
  • Define and own priority KPIs, continually analyzing emerging Advertiser and DDFB customer dynamics and responding appropriately
  • Lead the development of annual and quarterly Ads and DDFB retention marketing plans, maximizing incremental gains to meet overarching Ads and DDFB business targets
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Retention Marketers across Ads and DDFB, including a Manager who owns DDFB retention strategy, who build and execute campaigns that drive business results and successful outcomes for our B2B audiences
  • Ensure all retention campaigns are launched with consistency, speed, and high quality
  • Advance technical and strategic B2B CRM capabilities by improving targeting logic, creative tooling, journey management, and experimentation infrastructure, including leading the transition from Braze/Iterable to our first-party CRM tool
  • Drive innovation in personalization and automation by partnering with MarTech, Engineering, and Analytics to unlock new levers and channels
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to Ads and DDFB business leads across Ads & Promotions, DoorDash for Business, Product, Strategy & Operations, Marketing, and Sales

We’re excited about you because you have…

  • 8+ years experience in B2B marketing, engagement or operations with 5+ years managing high performing teams
  • A results-oriented mentality with a track record of developing profitable B2B retention marketing programs and exceeding performance & revenue targets, ideally in advertising or business-services products
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to translate large and disparate data sets into hypotheses and an experimentation strategy
  • Strong experience with CRM technology, including marketing automation / ESP platforms (e.g., Iterable, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot), and deploying complex multi-channel programs
  • A highly motivated, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently, while also skilled at building strong internal relationships and consensus on initiatives; comfortable building in new, fast-growing businesses and navigating ambiguity
  • Passion for customer experience and delivering incremental value to customers
  • The ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
  • The ability to pivot readily and react to real-time data
  • Experience in B2B2C, SaaS, or advertising products and familiarity with SQL are a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree a plus
