About this job

This is what you will do:

The Senior Manager, US Digital Content & Channel Management is responsible for the day-to-day strategy, planning, development, governance, publishing and measurement of content across Alexion U.S. corporate digital channels. This role will manage the U.S. external editorial calendar and help translate corporate, portfolio, launch, advocacy, policy, employer-brand and executive priorities into audience-relevant digital content. The Senior Manager will work closely with U.S. Communications colleagues, enterprise digital teams, agencies and business partners to deliver compliant, on-brand and platform-appropriate content across Alexion and AstraZeneca channels.

You will be responsible for:

  • Digital channel strategy and management: Manage the operating strategy and day-to-day execution for U.S. corporate website and social channels, with clear channel roles, audiences, governance and publishing standards.
  • Editorial planning and intake: Own the U.S. external editorial calendar and content-intake process; prioritize requests against communications strategy, audience need, channel purpose, timing, capacity and approval requirements.
  • Content development and adaptation: Develop, edit and adapt digital content including website copy, social posts, executive social content, feature stories, videos, graphics, carousels and campaign assets. Ensuring content is designed for the native behavior of each channel.
  • Publishing, approvals and governance: Coordinate content through required review and approval processes, including Veeva or other applicable workflows; maintain accurate publishing schedules, version control, records and channel governance.
  • Website and digital ecosystem management: Coordinate updates to Alexion U.S. web properties and landing pages, including content maintenance, quality assurance, accessibility, search optimization and alignment with enterprise digital standards.
  • Measurement and optimization: Establish channel and content reporting, use analytics and social-listening insights to assess performance, and recommend changes to content mix, format, cadence, amplification and channel investment.
  • Content amplification and reuse: Plan content reuse from the outset, converting priority communications, films, congress assets and executive moments into platform-appropriate digital assets that extend reach and lifespan.
  • AI-enabled content and workflow innovation: Apply approved AI and emerging digital tools to improve content development, adaptation, optimization, measurement and workflow efficiency, while maintaining appropriate human oversight and adhering to company, legal, regulatory, privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Agency and vendor coordination: Manage day-to-day digital, creative, publishing, monitoring and production partners; coordinate scopes, timelines, budgets, quality and delivery.
  • Cross-functional partnership: Partner with Brand Communications, Internal Communications, Advocacy, Policy, Media, Marketing, Medical, Regulatory, Compliance, Talent Acquisition and enterprise digital teams to deliver coordinated U.S. content and channel activation.
  • Community and risk management: Coordinate monitoring, community management, adverse-event and product-information escalation processes, and rapid-response publishing in accordance with approved standards and procedures.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, digital media or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital communications, content strategy, social media, web publishing, editorial operations or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing editorial calendars and publishing content across corporate websites and major social platforms.
  • Strong writing, editing and visual-storytelling skills, with experience translating complex topics into clear digital content for varied audiences.
  • Experience with content-management, social publishing, enterprise approval and analytics tools; ability to quickly learn new platforms and workflows.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility, search optimization, platform-native content practices, analytics and digital measurement.
  • AI fluency and demonstrated ability to apply generative AI and emerging digital tools to content development, editorial workflows, audience insights and optimization, with sound judgment regarding appropriate use, accuracy, human oversight and compliance.
  • Experience managing agencies, vendors, scopes, timelines and budgets.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain disciplined workflow and version control.
  • Sound judgment and working knowledge of legal, regulatory and compliance considerations for digital communications in healthcare, pharmaceutical or another regulated industry.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, levels and geographically dispersed teams.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without a reasonable accommodation, to use a computer; communicate by phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem-solving, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; and maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or rare disease communications experience.
  • Experience with Veeva approval workflows, Sprinklr or comparable social-media management tools, Adobe Experience Manager or comparable web content-management systems, Adobe Express or related creative tools, and web/social analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting paid social, search, influencer or employee-amplification programs.
  • Experience managing content across both Alexion and AstraZeneca brand environments or similarly complex brand architectures.
  • Light video production and editing experience.
