As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE JOB
In this role you'll take full ownership of strategic supplier network development, supplier onboarding, and lifecycle cost management for Anduril’s Advanced Effects electronics product portfolio with a focus on PCBA. In this role, you will architect cross-commodity sourcing strategies, lead high-impact commercial negotiations, and partner seamlessly with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to scale mission-critical hardware from early concept through full-rate production with a focus on NPI.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Own the end-to-end supplier lifecycle, leading global market discovery, technical qualification, and structured onboarding of manufacturing partners into our supply network
- Architect and execute multi-million dollar, cross-commodity negotiation strategies to maximize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across the entire product lifecycle
- Partner with strategic suppliers during early-stage development to accelerate New Product Introduction velocity via:
- Concept scoping to rapidly define and lock technical requirements
- Feature trade-off analyses and design trade tables
- Bottom-up "should-cost" and clean-sheet cost modeling
- Joint design development governed by clear Statements of Work (SOWs)
- DFM reviews and simulation of complex mechanical and electronics designs
- Drive the consolidation and architecture of the manufacturing BOM (Bill of Materials) in partnership with Quality and Manufacturing to ensure seamless ramp-up internally and externally
- Manage CapEx budgets and tooling investments throughout NPI, optimizing tool design, lifecycle durability, and capacity scaling
- Conduct value-stream mapping across key commodity lines to eliminate bottlenecks, compress lead times, and optimize supply flexibility
- Lead comprehensive BOM risk assessments, dual-sourcing initiatives, and alternate component strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply continuity
- Drive the execution of supplier readiness reviews, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and technical component qualifications ahead of production ramp
- Drive continuous platform complexity reduction through component commonality optimization and strategic supplier rationalization
- Proactively manage global supply economics, including raw material indices, tariffs, logistics costs, and inflationary pressures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field
- 7+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices
- Domain expertise of value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component & product level
- Ability to travel 10% - 40% of the time, variable based on program needs
- Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or advanced technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
- Deep technical and commercial sourcing expertise across key manufacturing commodities:
- PCBA & Electronics
- Injection Molding: High-precision tooling, multi-cavity tool design, resin selection, DFM, and process validation
- Metal Casting: Die-casting (aluminum/zinc), investment/sand casting, secondary CNC machining, and tooling qualification
- Advanced sourcing experience with a track record of driving cradle-to-grave commodity roadmaps, supplier onboarding frameworks, and supplier capability development
- Demonstrated success in early supplier engagement (pre-concept/early architectural phase) to influence design-for-supply-chain
- Familiarity with rapidly developing and scaling high-tech products in high-mix, low-to-medium volume environments (aerospace, defense, automotive, or robotics)
- Proven adaptability and bias for action in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret (TS) clearance
