About this job
Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.
At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.
A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.
As a Senior Product Designer for Consumer App, you will shape how users navigate and interact with the Roblox platform. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of systematic thinking and meticulous craft. You will work across the foundations of our consumer app: its core architecture and navigation, its information architecture, the interaction models that make it feel native on every device, and the platform features used across the app.
You will design the ecosystem of UI and controls across the Roblox app and within the games where our users spend the majority of their time. This requires solving complex problems, such as translating 2D interfaces into 3D environments, while ensuring flows remain adaptive across mobile, desktop, console, and XR. You’ll shape both the vision and the details, and help decide how the Roblox app should evolve as players and creators move across every surface.
You will:
- Shape the app’s structure. Contribute to the core architecture, navigation and information architecture that keep Roblox one product across mobile, desktop, console, TV and XR.
- Design for every input. Define interaction models where touch, mouse and keyboard, gamepad and headset are part of the design from the start, not ports at the end.
- Define the system UI. Set the UI architecture and interaction patterns for the app and in game, so users engage experience first class UX and teams have a clear model to follow when they add new features.
- Design core platform features. Design the shared capabilities players rely on everywhere in the app, built once so they work consistently on every surface.
- Drive UX strategy. Frame the problem, set direction with PM, engineering, data science and research, and use A/B tests and research to decide what comes next.
- Influence across teams. Bring partner teams along so their work fits the app instead of reinventing it, and present your reasoning to leadership with clarity.
- Prototype in context. Use AI-assisted tools to test interactions on real devices and inputs, and help the team find faster ways to work.
You have:
- 8+ years in product design, with shipped work on navigation, information architecture or interaction models at platform scale.
- Strong craft across visual and interaction design, and fluency in Figma (auto layout, variables, components).
- A track record of UX strategy: framing ambiguous problems, setting direction, and getting it shipped with cross-functional partners.
- Cross-platform experience: Knowledge of designing for mobile, desktop, console, and XR environments.
- Advanced prototyping skills (Figma, Origami, ProtoPie or code), including hands-on use of AI tools to explore and prototype faster.
- Influence without authority across several teams, and the judgment to say no with a better alternative.
- Exceptional communication: The ability to tell a compelling story, move stakeholders to action, and document systems with precision.
