About this job
InterSystems is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and Product Management team for the Lab Enterprise product line.
You will shape the continued evolution of our enterprise laboratory capabilities, aligning product investment with customer needs, market opportunities, and the wider IntelliCare strategy. Working with laboratory subject matter experts, Product Development, and regional teams, you will translate complex clinical and operational needs into clear priorities and scalable product solutions.
This role combines strategic product leadership with direct people management. You will develop team capability, build alignment across functions, and make informed decisions where customer expectations, technical constraints, and strategic priorities compete.
An understanding of laboratory or healthcare technology is valuable, but deep laboratory expertise is not essential. Success requires the ability to work effectively with specialists, ask insightful questions, evaluate evidence, and turn that understanding into clear product direction.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Delivery
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for InterSystems Lab Enterprise, aligned with wider IntelliCare priorities.
- Set clear priorities and make timely investment and delivery decisions, balancing customer value, market needs, regulatory requirements, technical dependencies, and available capacity.
- Work with laboratory subject matter experts to understand complex workflows and translate specialist requirements into scalable product capabilities.
- Collaborate across IntelliCare product areas to support coherent, end-to-end clinical and operational workflows.
- Guide the Product Management team through development, validation, release, and adoption, maintaining a clear focus on intended outcomes.
- Use customer feedback, market insights, support trends, and product performance to inform priorities and continuous improvement.
People Leadership
- Initially operate as an individual contributor, with the potential to grow into a people management position as the team and business needs evolve
- Build a collaborative, accountable, and outcome-focused culture with clear responsibilities and expectations.
- Strengthen team capability and empower individuals to exercise sound judgement, develop expertise, and take increasing ownership.
Stakeholder and Market Engagement
- Build effective partnerships with Product Development, UX, Clinical Safety, regional teams, Implementation, Support, Marketing, and other relevant functions.
- Connect Product Development with regional and customer-facing teams, ensuring market needs and operational challenges inform product decisions.
- Engage with regional teams and customers to understand recurring challenges, market differences, and opportunities for improvement.
- Represent InterSystems Lab Enterprise in strategic internal and external discussions, adapting communication to clinical, technical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Support product demonstrations, strategic customer engagement, pre-sales, and Product Marketing activities as appropriate.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in Product Management or a closely related role within healthcare technology, enterprise software, clinical informatics, laboratory systems, or another complex domain.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams, including mentoring, performance management, recruitment, and capability development.
- Strong product judgement, with experience translating complex needs into strategy, priorities, and actionable roadmaps.
- Strategic and systems thinking, including an understanding of dependencies across products, teams, and workflows.
- Experience making prioritisation decisions when customer expectations, strategic objectives, technical constraints, and resources compete.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to challenge constructively, negotiate, and communicate difficult decisions.
- Ability to explain complex information clearly to technical, clinical, operational, and executive audiences.
Desirable
- Experience in healthcare, laboratory medicine, diagnostics, laboratory information systems, electronic health records, or another regulated environment.
- Experience working across international healthcare markets or enterprise software deployments.
Leadership Profile
You are a confident, collaborative leader who brings clarity to complexity. You listen carefully, seek evidence, and make timely decisions with a clear rationale.
You build trust across disciplines and cultures, align stakeholders around shared objectives, and maintain strategic direction when priorities compete. You look beyond individual requirements to identify underlying problems, recurring needs, and opportunities to create lasting product value.
You are also committed to developing others, helping team members build confidence, strengthen their capabilities, and take ownership with appropriate autonomy.
