About this job

Tabs is the AI Operating System for Revenue, built for modern finance and accounting teams. It combines deep revenue and accounting expertise with the agents and applications needed to run revenue work end to end. Tabs understands customer and contract context, applies accounting logic, and executes critical workflows with built in controls, auditability, and human oversight. With Tabs, finance teams can move from manually managing revenue workflows to directing outcomes while the system executes the work.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own Revenue & Compliance at Tabs — the system that turns performance obligations and usage data into recognized revenue a finance team can close the month on, and an auditor can sign off on.

This is core to what Tabs does: audit-defensible revenue recognition is a foundational part of our value proposition. You’ll own the product behind the recognition engine across methods, the ASC 606 treatment that drives it (SSP allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications), and the audit trail and SOX-grade controls that make the numbers defensible. You’ll work every day with Engineering, Solutions, and accounting experts to turn complex accounting requirements into product.

How We Work

  • We work hard. Two-week sprints, weekly ship goals, short feedback cycles. Built around intra-month product releases.

  • We work smart. Get in front of the customer, use both data and customer feedback to drive decisions, while keeping the bigger picture in mind.

  • We work together. In-office culture with people you want to work with. Lots of whiteboard space. Expense coffee, lunch, and dinner when in the office.

What You’ll Work On

Own the revenue recognition engine

  • Define how performance obligations convert into revenue schedules across methods — straightlined, point-in-time, usage-based, and milestone

  • Ensure contract changes (amendments, renewals, terminations) flow through correctly to revenue schedules, including re-allocation and restatements

  • Own recognized, deferred, and unbilled balances, and the movement between them each period

Drive ASC 606 compliance

  • Own how the product handles transaction price allocation across bundled performance obligations (SSP), variable consideration, and contract modification accounting, working with accounting experts to get the treatment right

  • Stay close to evolving accounting guidance, audit standards, and the needs of active and prospective merchants, and translate them into product direction

  • Turn merchant use cases and questions from customer-facing teams into product improvements

Build toward audit-defensible, SOX-grade revenue

  • Define the audit trail standard with accounting and compliance partners: what was recognized, when, why, against which obligation, so an external auditor can verify any number directly

  • Build toward segregated permissions and approval workflows (RBAC) for revenue and journal entry changes

Bring AI into the revenue workflow

  • Partner on AI-powered tooling that goes beyond answering questions — flagging anomalies before close, explaining what changed and why, and recommending the right recognition treatment as obligations and contracts evolve

About You

  • 5+ years of product management or equivalent experience (such as engineering or finance systems), with a track record of building: you’ve worked hands-on with engineers to scope, prioritize, and ship complex software

  • Experience in a domain where correctness matters, such as financial, accounting, billing, payments, compliance, or data-integrity-heavy systems

  • You learn complex, rules-based domains quickly and go deep enough with experts to ask the right questions and spot when something is wrong

  • Comfortable translating complex frameworks into product requirements and data models engineers can build against

  • Highly analytical and data-driven; comfortable making decisions based on metrics and qualitative insight

  • Excellent communicator and collaborator — you work closely with teams Solutions and accounting experts to shape product design, make sure they understand what's being built, and align executive stakeholders

Strong plus

  • Revenue accounting experience (Controller, Assistant Controller, Revenue Accountant, or Technical Accounting Manager), or hands-on ASC 606 experience

  • Experience building or deploying revenue recognition, billing, or ERP products

  • Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment

  • Experience with SOX controls or RBAC design

Perks and Benefits (Full-time Employees)

  • Competitive compensation and equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Up to 100% employer covered monthly healthcare premium (medical, dental, vision)

  • Lunch provided via Sharebite, plus dinner for any later in office days.

  • Parental leave up to 12 weeks

  • Tax free commuter and parking benefits

  • Voluntary insurances (Life, Hospital, Critical Illness, Accident)

  • Employee Assistance Program (Rightway)

  • Free One Medical Membership

  • 401k
