About this job
Who We Are
Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology: an operating system with deterministic guard rails underneath, agents on top. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.
Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for more modern, fully agentic solutions to help private fund CFOs is crucial.
This is where Maybern comes in.
We are equipping fund managers with a fully agentic operating system for private fund management, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.
Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.
What We're Looking For
Maybern is building the operating system for agentic fund management. We're hiring a Senior Recruiter to own our business hiring end to end and to build the recruiting systems our team runs on.
About two thirds of the role is full-cycle recruiting for Sales, Account Management, Solutions, Implementation, Operations, and Finance, with support on Forward Deployed Engineering and engineering roles when needed. You'll help shape how we tell our story and convince exceptional people to bet on us. The other third is talent engineering: designing and shipping AI-powered tools for sourcing, screening, and reporting that the whole team uses.
What You'll Do
Recruit: Own full-cycle hiring for business roles, from kickoff through close. Partner with senior leaders to define the profile, calibrate the bar, and close candidates in a competitive NYC market.
Raise the bar: Help build a talent-dense company. Push back when the bar slips, distinguish real signal from pedigree, and run calibration that hiring managers trust.
Build: Design and ship recruiting systems: AI sourcing pipelines, Ashby automations, candidate briefs, and pipeline analytics. Use tools like Ashby, Juicebox, and Claude, and pick up new ones.
Flex: Support Forward Deployed Engineering and engineering hiring alongside our technical recruiter when volume calls for it.
Document: Turn what works into reusable playbooks and tools that the rest of the team can run without you.
Who You Are
High bar, high judgment: You've hired for talent-dense teams and you know the difference between exceptional and good.
Builder: You've automated parts of your own recruiting workflow and other recruiters use what you built. You think in systems: data quality, failure points, and where a human needs to stay in the loop.
Closer: You can explain equity clearly, lead with the real number, and close candidates who have other options.
AI-native: AI is part of how you work every day, and you have a clear view on where it helps and where judgment has to stay human.
This Could Be a Great Fit If You…
Have 4+ years of recruiting experience, including 2+ years in-house at VC-backed tech companies
Have owned full-cycle hiring for business roles such as GTM, customer success, account management, operations, or finance. Bonus points if you have also recruiting for software engineering or forward deployed engineering roles.
Know the NYC talent market well and have a network to show for it
Have recruited at an early-stage company where you had to build the employer brand, not lean on one
Have built AI or automation workflows for recruiting that are in production today, and can walk us through them
Are interested in fintech or private markets, or have hired in the space
Have some experience recruiting for technical or forward deployed roles
Are comfortable with Ashby, Juicebox, LinkedIn Recruiter, or similar tools
