About this job
Device Brand Studio, an internal agency within the Devices group at Amazon, is seeking a talented Senior UX Designer to help bring new Amazon offerings to market, products, services, and features within our devices portfolio. The Senior Designer will help lead and craft our connected digital experiences across Amazon’s physical retail environments, including interactive displays, touchscreens, on-device demos, digital signage, and multi-screen experiences.
As a senior individual contributor, you will execute on and help evolve the visual design vision for Amazon’s retail product experience, contribute to scalable design systems, and tackle complex design challenges across our in-store product surfaces including Touch Bars and on device demos. You will consider the complete customer journey across physical and digital touchpoints, translating shopper needs into intuitive user flows, interaction models, states, and transitions. This is not a traditional UI/UX design role — you will operate at the intersection of brand expression, systems thinking, interaction design, motion, and physical retail, partnering closely with motion designers, interaction designers, channel managers, product managers, and retail leaders to deliver high-quality experiences.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in digital design, typography, motion and brand systems and have the ability to take creative direction and translate it into polished, on-brand work across a range of formats. You will work closely with creative directors, art directors, and copywriters to bring concepts to life, iterating based on feedback and factoring in customer and business requirements. You should be comfortable presenting your work to peers and leads, articulating the rationale behind design and CX decisions, taking direction well, and knowing when to ask questions versus when to execute. You should have working knowledge of brand guidelines and creative briefs at a top consumer-facing brand like Amazon.
Because the work is varied and fast-paced, you should have strong craft fundamentals and the ability to manage your own time across multiple projects. You will partner with creative directors, art directors, copywriters, and production to deliver design work across product detail pages, merchandising assets, retail fixtures, and packaging. You will also help create scalable design and interaction systems that can flex across devices, screen sizes, retailers, product lines, and global markets while maintaining a cohesive customer experience.
This role is for a design-forward contributor who executes with precision, translates creative direction into thoughtful design solutions, brings a strong point of view, proactively identifies opportunities to improve the customer experience, and is looking to grow their craft within a fast-moving in-house creative team.
Key job responsibilities
- Execute high-quality, brand-consistent design work across digital touchpoints, guided by established creative direction
- Help define and evolve visual and brand standards that shape how customers experience Amazon Devices
- Design for the web within responsive frameworks, design systems, and CMS workflows, ensuring visual consistency and scalability
- Apply brand guidelines accurately and consistently across a range of digital formats and surfaces
- Incorporate AI tools into the creative process to explore ideas, develop assets, accelerate workflows, and expand creative possibilities
- Collaborate with creative directors, art directors, and copywriters to bring concepts to life from brief through digital go-to-market delivery
- Iterate quickly on design work based on feedback from creative leads and stakeholders
- Prepare and organize design files and assets for handoff to production and other teams
- Contribute ideas and point of view in creative reviews, while executing to the direction set by leads
- Manage time and priorities across multiple concurrent design requests
