About this job

About Us

Foundry Robotics is building an AI-native robotics manufacturing company focused on deploying advanced assembly and production capability for leading robotics companies and national-security-critical hardware. Basically, we're building robots that build robots.

We are reimagining manufacturing through advanced robotics. Our mission is to rebuild the American manufacturing industry as an AI-first, assembly-focused, dual-use contract manufacturer. We aim to empower manufacturers with intelligent, efficient, and adaptable robotic systems that redefine productivity and quality. As a senior leader on our manufacturing team, you will have a direct and significant impact on our product, culture, and ultimate success. This role is 100% in-person at our office in Emeryville, CA.

The Role

American manufacturing is having its loudest decade in fifty years, and most of the argument is happening on X. We are not in it yet. We want to be — not as a brand account posting milestones, but as a company with a point of view that engineers, operators and defense primes actually want to read.

This role owns that. You will run our social presence, with X as the first priority, and you will own how Foundry sounds everywhere else: the site, the job descriptions, the customer one-pagers, the launch posts. You will work closely with our founder to get him posting consistently and in his own voice, not a ghostwritten one.

The raw material is good and almost entirely uncaptured. There are robot cells running on our floor in Emeryville every day, and almost none of it has been filmed, written up, or argued about in public. Your job is to turn that into a reason for the right people — customers, candidates, investors — to pay attention.

This is an on-site role in Emeryville. The shop floor is the content; you need to be near it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own X. Set the strategy, run the company account, and build a posting rhythm that holds. Know who matters in physical AI, manufacturing and defense tech, and get us into those conversations.

  • Get the founder posting. Work directly with our founder on his X presence — drafts, prompts, angles, and the discipline to keep it going. Sound like him, not like marketing.

  • Own the voice. Write and maintain the tone-of-voice guide, then enforce it. Job descriptions, site copy, decks, customer materials, internal announcements — if it carries the Foundry name, it should read like one company.

  • Make the content. Shoot and cut short video on the floor. Write the posts, the launch announcements, the customer stories, the technical explainers. You will be the one with the phone out during a cell run.

  • Run the other channels. LinkedIn for recruiting and customers, YouTube for longer-form, the website blog. Prioritize honestly rather than being everywhere at once.

  • Measure it. Follower quality over follower count, inbound from candidates and customers, which posts moved something. Report monthly on what is working and kill what is not.

  • Partner across the company. Pull stories out of engineers and operators who do not think they have one. Work with the Events Coordinator so the show floor and the feed tell the same story.

What We're Looking For

Founder mentality: We love people who build like it's their own company. You move fast, take ownership, and find a way through when the path isn't obvious. You have the drive to make big things happen and the judgment to take smart risks along the way. If you prefer a clearly defined lane, a predictable pace, and all the answers before you start, there's nothing wrong with that—but Foundry might not be the right fit.

  • 5+ years in social, content, or brand, with a stretch where you personally owned the posting — not briefed an agency to do it. Specific focus on X

  • A company X account, that you ran, and you are willing to show us. We will read it.

  • Genuinely good writing. Short-form especially: the ability to make a technical point land in a paragraph.

  • A real opinion about tone, and the judgment to tell the difference between a company that sounds confident and one that sounds like it is trying.

  • Experience writing in someone else's voice, ideally a founder's, without flattening it.

  • Comfort shooting and cutting video on a phone to a publishable standard.

  • Enough technical curiosity to understand what a robotic cell is doing and explain it without hedging.

Nice to Have

  • Background in hardware, robotics, manufacturing, defense tech, or industrials.

  • You already follow the physical AI and American manufacturing conversation on X and could name who matters in it.

  • Experience building a brand voice from close to nothing.

  • Design sense, or the ability to work well with designers.

Send us the work. Three posts you are proud of will tell us more than a cover letter.

Why Join Us?

This is one of the only places where world-class manufacturing operators, mechanical engineers, robotics researchers, and software engineers sit in the same room — building production systems together.

We are committed to being deeply embedded in the U.S. industrial base. Our focus is simple: build adaptive robotic assembly systems that make American manufacturing scalable, resilient, and competitive again.

If you want to run a mature, well-defined commercial org, this may not be the role.

If you want to build the commercial engine that brings AI-driven manufacturing to every industrial and energy customer in America — this is it.
