Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an experienced professional to manage the development and execution of Form’s global supply chain strategy for critical metal parts. This role reports to the Director of Global Supply Management (GSM). As part of our GSM team, you will be involved in researching markets, identifying and engaging with suppliers, developing and executing sourcing strategies, and managing key supplier relationships in collaboration with key cross-functional teams. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

This is a hybrid role, which will require working onsite from our Berkeley, CA office 3-4 days per week. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:

  • Own the metal parts category at Form (with a focus on stamped, formed, and expanded mesh metal parts), including commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base and the broader value chain

  • Collaborate closely with Form’s Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering and Strategic Supply teams to define and drive execution of Form’s metal parts sourcing strategy

  • Negotiate and deliver favorable commercial terms for metal parts that optimize costs, lead times, and risk to Form by managing the end-to-end sourcing process from supplier development through qualification, negotiation, and contracting

  • Secure best-in-class pricing for metal parts through detailed price analysis and negotiations, continual cost reductions, cost avoidance, and logistics optimization

  • Monitor current category market conditions, evaluating supplier capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps and supply/demand challenges & opportunities

  • Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers and mitigating risks by rigorously analyzing component and manufacturing costs, performing risk analyses, forecasting industry trends, and leveraging your own expertise in metals markets and production processes

What you'll bring:

  • Deep category experience (7+ years) in metal parts strategic sourcing, market/pricing mechanics, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment

  • Solid understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts

  • Fact-based, detail-oriented, data-driven decision making along with strong analytical skills; ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity and make decisions based on partial information

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; an optimistic, high-energy “people person” with a strong desire to build collaborative relationships and make things happen

  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate cross-functionally on multiple tasks and projects; a team-player

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline

  • Ability to work in the US and travel globally as necessary
