About this job

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, Archer is a leader in the next-gen aerospace sector building an end-to-end advanced air mobility platform that delivers air taxis, unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”), aviation-related physical artificial intelligence (“AI”) solutions, and other technologies to customers worldwide across the commercial aerospace and defense sectors.

Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.

We are looking for 0 to 1 Staff Software Engineers to join an elite team that is building out Archer’s Airline Operations Software Ecosystem. Engineers who have built and shipped multiple products across disciplines and languages are encouraged to apply. Experience with backend development combined with AI-focused front-end development is especially valued.

What You'll Do:

  • Build great software. Take product requirements and turn them into beautiful, reliable, and high quality web and mobile applications
  • Create and manage backend infrastructure including building database schemas, API architecture, orchestration services, and refining architecture
  • Lead end-to-end technical execution and receive full ownership of the software development lifecycle
  • Design and implement the architecture and tech stack that will serve as the backbone for our platform while balancing scalability, speed, and reliability
  • Contribute to the Roadmap: Ideate, plan, and prototype technical tools for aircraft performance and dispatch settings
  • Work with design, data science, and technical aviation experts to supercharge the features and products you are working on
  • Use the latest code-generation technologies to streamline your workflow and achieve breakthrough productivity
  • Implement and productize novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms developed by our AI/ML research team

What You Need:

  • 8+ years of post college work, or entrepreneurial experience
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in an engineering discipline (or multiple pieces of evidence of outstanding individual technical achievement)
  • End-to-end experience building all parts of software, from front-end to back-end and to cloud deployment
  • Ability to create intuitive, clean, and professional products with minimal design influence
  • Strong understanding of how to implement and train AI systems into SaaS products and willingness to learn and adapt to building voice agent
  • Familiarity with building server-less & micro-service in popular cloud hyperscalers and managing production grade CI/CD pipelines
  • Quickly and iteratively respond to needs of customers and turn product changes around on tight timelines

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Infrastructure experience: k8s, S3, RDS, SQS, Lambda, Datadog, Docker, and Temporal Orchestration Service
  • Strong passion for aviation and/or UAM
  • Rich Github history with examples of personal projects that can be shared with the hiring team and/or open-source contributions
  • Willingness and ability to transition between mobile and web development
