At Slack, we are making work simpler, more pleasant, and more productive.

The TPM will partner closely with teams of engineers, design, product management, as well as bridging the gap with cross-functional partners and senior leaders.

The TPM should embrace the benefits of moving quickly and enjoy teaming up with partners to solve hard problems. They turn cross-functional complexity into decisions. They align partners around a clear path grounded in the business drivers, and they stay accountable for delivery and results. They thrive when given the chance to design systems and processes that facilitate efficient collaboration and execution.
Responsibilities
- Be a strategic partner to senior product, design, and engineering leadership. Become a strong influencer with credibility with peers and stakeholders, capable of building productive, trusting relationships with partners.
- Run the experiment portfolio, inclusive of velocity reporting, collision checks, launch tracking, and quality. Be a strategic partner with Data Science and Business Operations to improve the experiment process.
- Drive feature programs such as global expansion and Slackbot-infused initiatives to improve onboarding and invites
- Own quarterly and monthly planning exercises and process, including exec reviews and roadmap alignment between marketing and product, design, and engineering.
- Quickly become a domain expert in your space with the ability to articulate how the engineering systems works, process flows, and can quickly recognize dependencies and anticipate and mitigate risks. You understand the product end-to-end, identify dependencies and gaps, and recommend implementations with clear evaluation criteria.
- Understand the product and problem space beyond the orchestration layer, including customer need, engineering work, and technical architecture. Form your own point of view on the product and roadmap, grounded in the cross-functional team's business drivers and metrics, and influence strategy from the start
- Transform high-level goals into a logical set of projects
- Develop, roll out, and improve operational strategies, tools, and processes such as weekly business reviews, impact metric views (in partnership with data science), and executive alignment. Challenge conventional practice and go beyond the stated requirement, building new agentic mechanisms (e.g., AI-assisted tracking, automated status, and risk reporting) that scale operations
- Build and maintain timelines, project plans, and communication artifacts to ensure everyone is operating from the most recent and accurate information
- Run program fundamentals (schedule, risks, communications) proactively, with risks and mitigation strategies in place
- Track end-to-end projects against the committed dates and release schedule
