About this job
Founded in 2018, Talos provides institutional-grade trading technology for the global digital asset market, powering many of the major players in the crypto ecosystem. Our mission is clear: to advance the mass adoption of digital assets by seamlessly connecting institutions to the digital asset ecosystem. We are committed to building the most innovative and trusted platform in the world, supporting the entire trading lifecycle.
At Talos, you’ll find an environment that champions kindness and respect, values diverse perspectives, and upholds inclusivity at every turn. We believe every member of our team brings invaluable insights and abilities that drive Talos forward. In our pursuit of excellence, we foster a culture of trust, integrity, collaboration, and mutual growth.
We are a tight-knit yet globally distributed team of highly experienced engineers and business leaders, with hubs in New York, London, Singapore, and Cyprus. You’ll be part of a hybrid-friendly environment where your unique talents and insights will play a crucial role in building something extraordinary.
Vice President of Finance
We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead Talos’s global finance organization. This role is ideal for a proven VP or Head of Finance & Accounting who is ready to take the next step at an established, high-growth startup. Reporting to the COO, with a direct line into the CEO and Board, you will own the finance function outright as Talos scales into a mature, global enterprise.
This is a builder seat. Reporting, systems, controls, and operating cadence are yours to design. You’ll be a hands-on player-coach who sets strategy and still builds the model, writes the board pack, and fixes the process. You’ll thrive in a technical, founder-led environment where priorities move quickly and leaders build while executing.
Responsibilities
Partner with the CEO and COO to turn operational performance and market dynamics into a long-range financial plan
Upgrade executive and Board reporting, giving clear visibility into weekly, monthly, and quarterly drivers
Own FP&A, including forecasting, budgeting, unit economics, and scenario modeling across SaaS, data services, and trading volumes
Communicate strategy and growth metrics clearly to leadership, the Board, investors, and auditors
Assess and modernize finance systems and core workflows (AR, AP, billing, collections, cash management) using AI and automation
Optimize working capital and revenue recognition across complex, multi-tiered enterprise contracts
Oversee global accounting, tax, and statutory reporting under US GAAP and IFRS across US, UK, Europe, APAC, LatAm, and offshore entities
Manage auditor, tax advisor, and regulator relationships, and build controls, transfer pricing, and governance that scale without slowing the business
Support capital allocation, fundraising, and M&A
Lead and grow a finance team of six plus outsourced partners, fostering a meritocratic, low-ego, results-driven culture
Qualifications
10+ years in finance, including 3+ years leading a global finance and accounting function as VP, Head of Finance, or CFO
Experience in high-growth, founder-led technology companies
Strong enterprise SaaS fluency (ARR, NDR, cohort retention, pricing) and capital markets or trading technology knowledge
Superior FP&A and modeling skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business guidance
Solid technical accounting grounding, including revenue recognition, multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation, and Big 4 audit management
International experience across the US and Europe, ideally APAC, including cross-border tax and treasury
Track record modernizing finance operations through systems, automation, or AI
Hands-on, comfortable with ambiguity, and credible with founders, investors, and technical leaders
Digital asset experience is a plus, not a requirement
Based in, or willing to relocate to, New York City
