The Assistant Director, Client Marketing will own the development and delivery of integrated marketing programs for HarbourVest’s Global Private Wealth business. This role translates fundraising priorities, product focus areas, and audience insights into targeted campaigns, engagement programs, and educational initiatives across wealth audiences. Operating with a high degree of independence, the role will establish strong partnerships with Investor Relations, Product Specialists, Commercial Operations, and regional marketing teams to define priorities and lead programs serving distribution partner, platform, and advisor segments throughout the client lifecycle. As part of a newly established team, the role will take a leading role in building scalable marketing processes, audience engagement strategies, and campaign capabilities across regions.
The Ideal Candidate is Someone Who Is:
- A strategic, hands-on marketer with demonstrated success independently leading integrated marketing programs and complex cross-functional initiatives, building stakeholder partnerships, and delivering measurable results.
- Fluent in wealth audiences, with familiarity across intermediary distribution channels including platforms, home offices, wirehouses, RIAs, and private banks.
- Experienced in developing audience-centric marketing programs, nurture journeys, and engagement strategies that support fundraising and business growth.
- A trusted partner to distribution and business stakeholders, able to understand their priorities, provide informed recommendations, and build alignment around marketing strategies.
- An effective cross-functional leader who can bring others along, influence without direct authority, and drive shared accountability for delivery.
- Analytical, with experience applying audience insights, engagement data, and campaign performance metrics to improve targeting and personalization.
- Highly organized, collaborative, and able to navigate ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and move initiatives forward independently across regions, teams, and approval processes.
- Comfortable setting priorities and managing tradeoffs across campaigns, product launches, educational programs, events, and advisor engagement initiatives.
What You Will Do:
- Own the strategy, planning, execution, and ongoing optimization of integrated marketing campaigns aligned with Global Private Wealth fundraising priorities, supporting awareness, engagement, platform adoption, and asset growth.
- Partner directly with Investor Relations, business leadership, and product teams to identify marketing opportunities, recommend approaches, and translate business priorities into campaign concepts, messaging frameworks, audience plans, and activation strategies.
- Define audience strategies across global wealth segments, including home office, platform, wirehouse, RIA, private bank, and financial advisor groups.
- Design and lead audience journeys and nurture programs that deliver personalized communications and meaningful engagement throughout the client lifecycle.
- Establish a close partnership with Commercial Operations to harness internal and third-party data for audience segmentation, personalization, campaign measurement, and engagement tracking.
- Lead coordinated campaign activation across channels including email, web, paid media, social media, and advisor-facing communications.
- Determine how best to integrate sponsored and owned events, webinars, roadshows, educational programs, and client engagement opportunities into broader marketing plans.
- Lead marketing workstreams for product launches, onboarding initiatives, and advisor education programs, aligning stakeholders on objectives, responsibilities, and delivery plans.
- Build strong working relationships with Product Specialists and Investor Relations teams to identify advisor needs and lead the development of advisor-facing communications, educational content, sales enablement materials, and engagement programs that drive advisor awareness, adoption, and long-term product utilization.
- Direct the development and adaptation of campaign materials, including emails, landing pages, digital assets, presentations, and related collateral, providing clear briefs and actionable feedback to internal and external partners.
- Lead campaign timelines, dependencies, workflows, reviews, and approvals, proactively resolving obstacles and holding contributors accountable for high-quality, timely delivery.
- Define campaign objectives and success measures, evaluate performance, and recommend adjustments totargeting, messaging, sequencing, and channel strategy.
- Generate actionable engagement insights and sales signals and partner with Investor Relations to incorporate them into follow-up activities and future marketing strategies.
- Establish and improve scalable campaign processes, documentation, reporting practices, and guidelines that strengthen execution and support adoption across teams and regions.
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 6–12 years of marketing experience within the asset management industry, preferably supporting intermediary distribution channels.
