About the role
As a Business Development Manager within Maersk Project Logistics, you will take on a high-visibility commercial role supporting the rapidly growing Battery Energy Storage Systems sector. You will serve as a commercial and industry subject-matter expert, developing complex logistics opportunities, strengthening a major strategic customer relationship, and helping shape tailored project logistics solutions. Working across commercial, solution design, operations, customer service, and product teams, you will lead strategic discussions, support bids and proposals, and help expand Maersk’s presence within the broader BESS market.

This is an exciting career opportunity to work in a truly international company that makes global trade happen. You will be interacting daily with passionate colleagues around the world, giving you the opportunity to develop your professional skills in a global environment. Through the training and support we provide and learning on the job, you will have the chance to truly take your career all the way.

- Access ongoing learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development across Maersk’s international logistics network.
- Receive health insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with company match as a full-time employee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for a major strategic customer, managing relationships, escalations, and senior-level discussions.
- Drive proactive business development by identifying opportunities to expand the strategic account and broader BESS portfolio.
- Coordinate with commercial, solution design, operations, customer service, and product teams to address customer requirements.
- Manage account performance, rate development, pricing discussions, and commercially viable solution-development activities.
- Lead or support RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes, ensuring proposals are comprehensive, competitive, and aligned with customer needs.
- Review customer contracts and commercial requirements for alignment with product standards and operational capabilities.
- Represent the voice of the customer by providing market intelligence and feedback that support product development and continuous improvement.
Who we are looking for:
We recognize that experience comes in many forms. If you don’t meet every qualification, we still encourage you to apply.
- Bring five or more years of experience in project logistics, BESS, or a closely related industry.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of BESS supply chains, project cargo operations, and specialized logistics solutions.
- Show successful business development and strategic key-account management experience within logistics or supply chain.
- Apply strong commercial acumen across solution-based selling, account development, pricing, financial analysis, and contract review.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with operational stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and senior customer executives.
