About this job

About commercetools

Real innovation starts with a strong foundation, and at commercetools, that comes from the perfect balance of our product and our people.

Behind every leap forward is a collective of builders, explorers, doers, makers, and problem-solvers.The kind of people who not only pioneered a more flexible approach to commerce architecture but also shaped the culture of experimentation that approach unlocked. Together they are the engine of commerce innovation today.

At commercetools, we power the next era of autonomous commerce for our customers. Whether it’s AI-driven solutions that help enterprises make smarter business decisions, bridging digital and physical shopping experiences, or enabling entirely new ways for industries to connect with their customers, we help the world’s most ambitious companies experiment, scale, and grow without limits.

Here the best idea wins, not the loudest voice. You will have the tools, trust, and space to not only build the future of commerce, but to build your own.

Your Impact

As our Director of Demand Generation, you’ll support the Marketing team by owning the global strategy and execution for generating pipeline across our target enterprise accounts. Leading a multi-disciplinary team spanning Digital Marketing, ABX, Field & Regional Marketing, Corporate Events, and Web Experience, you will partner closely with Sales and Revenue Operations to turn demand into predictable revenue.

You will:

  • Strategic Growth Leadership: Design and execute an integrated, multi-channel global demand engine aligned with corporate ARR targets, market expansion goals, and key enterprise ICPs.
  • Team Scaling & Management: Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing global team across ABX, Field Marketing, Digital, Web, and Events—fostering a culture of experimentation, accountability, and commercial excellence.
  • Pipeline Acceleration & ABX: Architect targeted Account-Based Marketing strategies for enterprise accounts, driving both net-new logos and expansion within existing accounts across North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
  • Full-Funnel Optimization: Establish a rigorous, data-driven approach to track end-to-end conversion rates, pipeline velocity, CAC, ROMI and marketing-attributed/influenced pipeline across all channels.
  • Sales & GTM Alignment: Serve as a core partner to Global Sales leadership, unifying marketing targets with sales pipelines, optimizing lead-to-opportunity handoffs, and continuously aligning GTM execution.
  • Leverage AI to Build for Scale: Identify opportunities to scale marketing programs and outcomes by implementing new ways-of-working supported by AI capabilities.
  • Budget & Performance Ownership: Manage the global demand gen budget, making agile resource-allocation decisions backed by ROI analytics and attribution models.

This role is hybrid, with three days a week spent in our Boston or London office.

What Sets You Apart

You're a creative problem-solver and systems builder who is wired to find solutions. You confidently dive into complex challenges and have a talent for making them simple for others. Your curiosity drives you to constantly grow and contribute to an environment of trust and teamwork.

Great ideas come from many paths, and your unique perspective matters more than checking every box. What matters most is the mindset you bring to the work.

You bring:

  • Enterprise B2B Software Track Record: 10+ years of progressive demand generation leadership in enterprise B2B SaaS/software (experience in headless/composable commerce, middleware, or developer-centric infrastructure is a major plus).
  • Global Team Leadership: Proven experience leading and inspiring remote, cross-functional GTM teams across multiple regions and time zones.
  • Advanced ABX & Digital Native: Mastery of modern enterprise GTM plays, multi-touch attribution, data analytics, and modern martech stacks (CRM, Marketing Automation, Intent Data engines).
  • Analytical Precision: A strong business acumen with a passion for pipeline math, unit economics, and data-backed decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to align product, sales, finance, and executive stakeholders around unified growth goals.
  • AI Aptitude: A genuine curiosity for using AI tools and capabilities to work smarter and more effectively, paired with a drive to learn and put them into practice in your team.
