About this job

About commercetools

Real innovation starts with a strong foundation, and at commercetools, that comes from the perfect balance of our product and our people.

Behind every leap forward is a collective of builders, explorers, doers, makers, and problem-solvers. The kind of people who not only created composable commerce but also shaped the culture of experimentation that idea unlocked. Together they are the engine of commerce innovation today.

At commercetools, we power the next era of commerce for our customers. Whether it’s AI-driven solutions that help enterprises make smarter business decisions, bridging digital and physical shopping experiences, or enabling entirely new ways for industries to connect with their customers, we help the world’s most ambitious companies experiment, scale, and grow without limits.

Here the best idea wins, not the loudest voice. You will have the tools, trust, and space to not only build the future of commerce, but to build your own.

About our Product Marketing team

Commerce isn’t a single puzzle. It’s a mix of interconnected experiences: how people discover products, how catalogs are organized and enriched, how pricing and promotions adapt, how orders flow, and how buying sneakers online feels completely different from sourcing industrial parts. Merchant experience is one of the defining experiences in commerce, and AI is reshaping it fast. Few roles let you help define that story while it's still being written.

As our Senior Product Marketing Manager, you'll shape how the market understands our merchant experience story, showing how AI agents and autonomous commerce are changing the way commerce is run and operated. You’ll show how teams and AI agents can use Search, Product Catalog Management, Pricing & Promotions, and more to deliver exceptional commerce experiences.

  • Strategic Influence: You’ll define how we talk about merchant experience, lead our AI and innovation narrative for merchants, and work hand in hand with Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and other teams to bring our story to market.
  • Own Domain Strategy: Drive positioning and GTM that shows each merchant team, from merchandisers to catalog managers to pricing managers, how commercetools changes the way they work across Search, Catalog Management, and Pricing & Promotions, from early development through adoption. You'll bridge technical capabilities and business outcomes, so every story is grounded in real product capability
  • Enable Sales & Build Content: Create high-impact assets (pitch decks, talk tracks, enablement, case studies, webinars, and analyst materials) that empower Sales to articulate domain value, using market intelligence and competitive trends to sharpen our messaging.
  • Build Customer & Market Content: Produce compelling case studies, webinars, and analyst materials, using market intelligence and competitive trends to refine messaging.
  • Partner and Measure: Collaborate directly with Product Leadership, Engineering, Sales, and Analyst Relations to ensure stories are grounded in real product capability, and define the GTM metrics (adoption, pipeline influence, narrative impact) that show what's working.
  • A Team That Has Your Back: Reporting to our Senior Director of Customer & Product Marketing, you'll be part of a close-knit PMM team that owns the marketing narratives for our portfolio of commerce products, with the support and backing to do your best work, and room to experiment with AI in how you work.

This is a hybrid role, with three days a week spent together in our Boston office.

What Sets You Apart

  • 4+ years of PMM experience in B2B/SaaS (ideally in commerce or complex multi-buyer tech).
  • Adaptable & Curious: Comfortable navigating B2C/B2B commerce contexts and fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
  • Technical Translator: Proven track record of turning complex product details into clear value propositions for both technical and business audiences.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Experience leading positioning, cross-functional GTM strategies, and managing senior stakeholders.
  • AI & Workflow Aptitude: Proactive mindset using AI tools to optimize your workflow and stay ahead of emerging tech.
  • Sharp Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience with composable, modular, or platform-style products.
  • Familiarity with commerce ecosystems (Search, PIM, Order Management, etc.).
  • Experience briefing major industry analysts (Gartner, IDC, Forrester)
