Reports To: Sr. Director of Brand and Creative

About the Role

GEICO is one of the most recognized advertising brands in the country, and the work that carries that brand has to do two jobs at once: keep the Masterbrand famous and drive measurable growth. Every piece of creative we put into the market — across broadcast, social, digital, and experiential — is an investment, and this role exists to make sure each one earns its keep, both emotionally with customers and commercially for the business.

You will lead creative, content, and brand management for GEICO, managing a team of creative and content professionals and our external creative agency partners. You'll own the operating rigor behind the work —  briefs, budgets, standards, milestones, and KPIs — and partner closely with Strategy/Product, Media, and Data and Analytics leads to connect creative output to business outcomes, build testing frameworks, and turn learnings into what we make next.

This is a right- and left-brained role. It suits someone who can judge a rough cut as sharply as a performance readout, who is comfortable working across many internal and external teams at once, and who wants to raise the bar with every initiative. Our marketing organization is integrating new functions and building new ways of working, and you'll have real room to shape how brand and creative operates here.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Excellence and Operations

  • Drive creative excellence, including evaluating quality of output, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Drive operational and executional excellence across all creative endeavors.
  • Establish procedural expectations, standards, milestones, and measurable KPIs with every project plan.
  • Develop and govern ways of working and operating principles.
  • Lead post-mortem discussions with appropriate stakeholders and provide a summary of learnings and actionable next steps to department leadership.

Budget and Investment Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for all content production, consistently looking for ways to maximize the impact of every investment.
  • Look holistically for opportunities to leverage efforts beyond the defined parameters of individual projects.

Brand Strategy and Insights

  • Produce briefs and identify opportunities that communicate and amplify the GEICO Masterbrand, as well as product value propositions that resonate with customers and drive sustainable profitable growth and market share gains.
  • Partner with Strategy/Product and Media leads to ensure all creative output is aligned to defined business objectives, accounts for allowable spend, and strengthens brand health.
  • Understand sources of growth, product positioning, competitive advantages, and drivers and barriers to success; apply those insights in a clear, thoughtful, and purposeful manner.
  • Contribute to the design of market research efforts that provide the building blocks for strategy recommendations.
  • Stay current on industry trends, consumer behavior, and emerging technologies to inform strategies and recommendations.

Measurement and Optimization

  • Partner with Data and Analytics leads to establish testing frameworks and iteration opportunities that unlock optimal performance from each piece of content.
  • Tie content performance back to specific business outcomes whenever possible; formulate hypotheses and recommendations for future optimization.
  • Set a clear vision of success for Marketing Strategy implementation and collaborate with Marketing Analytics to identify and track the appropriate KPIs.

Agency Partnerships

  • Manage external creative agency partner relationships.
  • Set, track, and hold agency partners accountable against assigned business objectives.
  • Motivate internal cross-functional teams and agency partners and drive accountability to business objectives.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, motivate, and mentor a team of creative and content professionals, ensuring they meet performance goals and deliver high-quality work.

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Have led a brand and creative team — owning the work from brief to production to in-market performance, not just reviewing it.
  • Have worked inside a business where acquiring and retaining customers is the core model, and you know what it means for creative to build brand and drive conversion at the same time.
  • Can give sharp creative feedback on a script or edit in the morning and walk through a performance readout in the afternoon — and enjoy both.
  • Have managed agency partners against clear business objectives and are comfortable holding them accountable when the work or the results fall short.
  • Treat production budgets like your own money and can point to times you stretched an investment further than its original scope.
  • Can translate creative decisions and test results into clear recommendations that land with senior leaders.
  • Have built and developed teams of creative and content professionals and hold a high bar for craft.
  • Do your best work when you're building new processes and ways of working, not just running existing ones.
  • Want to shape the creative behind one of the most iconic brands in advertising.

Ideal Experience

  • 10+ years in brand and creative marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Service business context: Background in a conversion-driven service business — financial services, insurance, SaaS, or banking — where the company's success depends on acquiring and retaining customers. Experience in CPG or physical product marketing is not a substitute for this context.
  • People leadership: Experience managing a team of creative and content professionals, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work.
  • Agency management: Experience working with external creative and media agency partners, including scoping work and building statements of work.
  • Multi-medium production: Strong understanding of content production across broadcast, social, digital, and experiential.
  • Large-scale programs: Experience managing large-scale programs across both B2B and B2C activations.
  • Data-informed creative: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data, testing, and performance results to make creative and strategic decisions.
  • Digital and social: Experience with digital marketing channels, especially paid and owned social media.
  • Program management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight or evolving deadlines.
  • AI tools: Comfort using AI tools like Claude or Copilot to speed up briefing, analysis, and day-to-day workflows.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.

Strong Candidates May Also Have

  • Insurance category experience.
  • Experience stewarding a long-running, iconic brand or campaign platform across many executions.
  • Experience building testing and creative-optimization frameworks alongside analytics partners.
  • Experience integrating new functions or standing up new operating models inside a marketing organization.
  • Familiarity with emerging creative and production technologies, including AI-assisted content production.
