What You Will Do
Set the Search Strategy

- Build a deep understanding of Member behavior, pain points, and purchasing journeys through research, analytics, experimentation, and direct feedback.
- Prioritize investments based on customer value, business impact, strategic alignment, technical complexity, and risk.
- Monitor advances in search, personalization, recommendations, machine learning, AI, and digital marketplaces, applying them where they create practical value.
Own the Search and Discovery Experience

- Improve search relevance, accuracy, speed, usability, and personalization while keeping the experience simple and intuitive.
- Partner with Data and Engineering to use vehicle, Member, behavioral, and marketplace data effectively and responsibly.
- Create discovery capabilities that help Members find relevant inventory, including when they do not know exactly what they are looking for.
Deliver and Optimize Products
- Lead products from discovery and requirements through development, launch, measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Translate Member and business needs into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, prioritized backlogs, and release plans.
- Manage cross-functional dependencies and balance long-term platform improvements with near-term Member experience gains.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, accessible, and supportable.
- Define KPIs, dashboards, and structured tests for ranking, relevance, filtering, personalization, and user experience; use results to guide roadmap decisions.
Lead Across the Organization

- Champion the voice of the Member and represent Search in product strategy and executive planning discussions.
- Communicate performance, decisions, risks, recommendations, and learnings clearly to senior leadership.
- Lead, coach, and develop Product Managers, establishing clear ownership, decision rights, quality standards, and accountability.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of progressive product management experience, including leadership of complex, customer-facing digital products.
- Experience owning search, discovery, recommendations, personalization, marketplace, e-commerce, or similar data-intensive products.
- Working knowledge of search relevance, ranking, information retrieval, recommendations, personalization, or machine-learning-driven products.
- Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into clear strategies, roadmaps, requirements, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong command of product analytics, KPIs, experimentation, prioritization, and data-informed decision-making.
- Experience partnering closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Analytics, Operations, and other business stakeholders.
- Clear, influential communication and sound judgment with senior technical and business leaders.
- Ability to work from Copart’s San Francisco office and travel to operating locations, Dallas headquarters, and customers as needed.
