The Opportunity:

Revolution Medicines is seeking a Director, Revenue Accounting and Finance to provide leadership across revenue accounting, gross to net accounting and forecasting, and related commercial finance activities as the company continues to scale its commercial operations.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Revenue Accounting and Finance, this role will lead critical revenue and gross to net processes, including financial close, forecasting, controls, government pricing coordination, analytics, and global revenue reporting. The Director will balance strong operational execution with longer term process development, helping establish scalable methodologies, controls, and reporting capabilities to support the company’s continued commercial growth.

This individual will serve as a senior Finance partner to Commercial, Market Access, Analytics & Insights, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and regional Finance teams. The ideal candidate will bring deep pharmaceutical revenue and gross to net expertise, strong technical accounting judgment, and the ability to lead complex cross functional initiatives, influence business decisions, and translate commercial and market dynamics into actionable financial insights.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee monthly product revenue and gross to net close activities, including the calculation, review, and monitoring of accruals and reserve balances for prompt pay discounts, copay and patient assistance programs, returns, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, 340B, VA/DoD, and other forms of variable consideration.

  • Provide leadership and oversight of revenue and GTN accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analyses, reserve rollforwards, close schedules, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate review.

  • Own and continuously strengthen the control environment for revenue and GTN processes, establishing scalable policies, procedures, and internal controls that support SOX compliance, audit readiness, and continued commercial growth.

  • Lead the development and evolution of RevMed’s GTN forecasting models and methodologies for budget, forecast, long range planning, and scenario analysis, ensuring assumptions and methodologies appropriately reflect changing business and market dynamics.

  • Serve as a senior Finance partner to Commercial and Market Access, providing financial leadership on GTN assumptions, forecast development, performance trends, pricing and contracting considerations, and the financial implications of evolving access strategies.

  • Lead partnership with Analytics & Insights to incorporate demand, patient, payer, and market data into GTN forecasts and analyses and translate emerging trends into actionable insights for Finance and business leadership.

  • Drive the development of analytics and management reporting that provide visibility into gross sales, discounts, reserve adequacy, forecast accuracy, and key risks and opportunities, and use these insights to inform senior leadership decision making.

  • Provide oversight of the external government pricing consultant relationship, including data submissions, review of government pricing calculations and outputs, resolution of complex issues, and support for accuracy and compliance across Medicaid, Medicare Part D, 340B, VA/FSS, and other applicable government programs.

  • Drive adoption of approved AI enabled tools, automation, and advanced analytics to scale revenue accounting, GTN forecasting, reconciliations, reporting, and close processes while maintaining appropriate governance, internal controls, auditability, and compliance with company policies.

  • Partner closely with the Senior Director, Revenue Accounting and Finance and the Vice President, Finance and Corporate Accounting on strategic initiatives, complex cross functional matters, SEC reporting disclosures, and significant revenue and GTN accounting or forecasting decisions.

  • Lead HQ coordination for global revenue and reporting, partnering with regional Finance and Accounting teams to establish consistent revenue inputs, forecasting methodologies, key assumptions, controls, variance analysis, and consolidation ready reporting across markets.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or related experience, including significant revenue accounting and gross to net experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

  • Deep expertise in pharmaceutical revenue accounting, gross to net accounting and forecasting, including application of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 to commercial revenue arrangements.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical GTN drivers, including rebates, chargebacks, discounts, returns, copay and patient assistance programs, government programs, distributor fees, and other forms of variable consideration.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and evolving GTN forecasting methodologies, analyzing forecast versus actual performance, and translating business and market dynamics into financial assumptions and recommendations.

  • Experience strengthening accounting processes, policies, and internal controls in a public company environment subject to SOX, SEC, and U.S. GAAP requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross functional initiatives and influence decisions across Commercial, Market Access, Analytics & Insights, FP&A, Accounting, and senior leadership.

  • Strong strategic and analytical judgment with the ability to identify complex issues, develop practical solutions, and balance short term execution with longer term scalability.

  • Experience working with external consultants and commercial partners and holding third parties accountable for accurate and timely deliverables.

  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex financial matters, business risks, recommendations, and insights to senior leaders and non Finance stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated interest in and experience using AI, automation, or advanced analytics to improve Finance processes and decision making.

  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills:

  • CPA or MBA preferred.

  • Experience supporting a first commercial product launch or scaling Finance infrastructure within an early commercial stage pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.

  • Experience operating across global or multi regional commercial organizations and coordinating revenue reporting and forecasting across regional Finance teams.
