You will play an important role in mergers and acquisitions and other strategic initiatives, including purchase accounting and related valuation matters, while supporting external financial reporting, audits, accounting policy development, and implementation of new accounting standards.

The successful candidate will independently research complex issues, develop well-supported conclusions, and communicate clearly with senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and external auditors.

What You’ll Do:

•    Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda that document authoritative guidance, significant judgments, conclusions, and financial statement impacts.
•    Lead technical accounting for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions, including business combinations, purchase accounting, valuation matters, contingent consideration, and transaction costs.
•    Partner with Legal, Tax, Treasury, Corporate Development, FP&A, Financial Reporting, and other teams to assess the accounting implications of significant transactions.
•    Review quarterly and annual financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting documentation for significant accounting matters.
•    Serve as a key technical accounting contact for external auditors and support quarterly reviews and annual audits.
•    Monitor accounting standards and regulatory developments, assess their impact, and lead implementation when appropriate.
•    Develop and maintain accounting policies that promote consistent application of U.S. GAAP.
•    Provide guidance on business combinations, consolidation and VIEs, impairment, debt and equity transactions, revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, and foreign currency.
•    Support the integration of acquired businesses and international operations from a technical accounting and reporting perspective.
•    Maintain appropriate documentation and SOX controls over technical accounting processes.
•    Provide technical accounting guidance and training to accounting and finance teams.
•    Lead cross-functional accounting projects and strategic or ad hoc initiatives.
•    Manage and develop team members, as applicable.

What You’ll Bring:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
•    Active CPA license.
•    At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or technical accounting experience.
•    M&A transaction experience, including accounting for acquisitions, divestitures, business combinations, purchase accounting, or other significant transactions.
•    Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ability to research, analyze, document, and communicate complex accounting matters.
•    Experience preparing and reviewing technical accounting memoranda and working with external auditors.
•    Experience with SOX internal controls and related documentation.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex accounting matters to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
•    Strong analytical, organizational, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
•    A hands-on, detail-oriented, and self-motivated approach, with comfort working in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Big Four or large national or regional public accounting firm experience.
