Director, Technical Program Management – Missionforce National Security

Must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) living on U.S. soil who does not hold dual citizenship with the ability to meet customer and government screening standards applicable to this role.

PLEASE NOTE: Qualification for this job is contingent upon acceptable results from a background investigation as well as your having and maintaining the specific level of U.S. government background investigation and clearance required for this role.

Technical Program Managers (TPMs) lead large, cross-functional initiatives at Salesforce from start to finish, working closely with executives and key partners on the company’s most critical programs.

The Director of TPM for Missionforce will report to the SVP of Missionforce National Security and run a portfolio of high-stakes programs at the center of Salesforce’s national security business. The programs include M&A integration, large federal mission implementations (such as replacing an agency’s enterprise IT service management platform) and new commercial models such as outcome-based contracting and pricing. The ideal candidate is as comfortable building a program V2MOM and running a steering committee as getting into the details of GovCloud onboarding or a contract structure. This individual contributor role is for someone who brings structure to ambiguity and moves fast with a sense of mission.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Turn executive intent into structured programs with clear scope, workstreams, owners, milestones and success measures, anchored in a program V2MOM.
  • Run the operating rhythm for each program: steering committees, advisory teams, weekly working teams and executive updates.
  • Drive action items, decisions, risks and dependencies across functions, and remove obstacles with urgency.
  • Serve as the SVP’s trusted extension in executive forums, and keep leadership ahead of issues.
  • Lead integration from announcement through close and into steady state. Coordinate Corporate Development, Legal, HR, Communications, Security, Technology & Product and the business.
  • Maintain the integration V2MOM, planning calendar, workstream plans and weekly updates.
  • Make sure employee experience milestones land well for the incoming team, preserving what makes it special while speeding up its impact.
  • Run multi-workstream implementations for federal customers through discovery, capability mapping, gap analysis, workshops and delivery.
  • Coordinate account teams, solution engineering, product, services, partners and the customer.
  • Work with Government Cloud and security teams to onboard capabilities into GovCloud and keep personnel compliant with security requirements.
  • Partner with Public Sector sales, Deal Desk, Legal, Accounting, Finance and Product to turn outcome-based deals into a repeatable motion.
  • Assess pipeline deals that fit, capture lessons from executed deals, and help define contract constructs, outcome measures and risk guardrails.
  • Help build the business case and investment requirements for future fiscal years.

You're Our Person If...

  • 10+ years of program management, technical program management, consulting or engineering management experience, with at least some time at an enterprise technology company.
  • A track record of leading large, cross-functional programs with executive visibility.
  • Experience delivering complex enterprise SaaS implementations or platform programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on attention to detail.
  • Strong executive communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to build consensus in a matrixed environment.
  • The ability to master new technical, commercial and contractual subjects quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) living on U.S. soil who does not hold dual citizenship with the ability to meet customer and government screening standards applicable to this role.

Even Better If...

  • M&A integration experience, ideally integrating a technology company into a larger enterprise.
  • U.S. federal, national security or defense experience, either as a provider or a government or military professional.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels (IL5/IL6/IL7) and GovCloud environments.
  • An active U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with ITSM/ESM platforms, platform migrations, or outcome- or value-based commercial models.

About You

  • You love to wear multiple hats and can run several high-visibility programs at once.
  • You build the relationships that make things happen across teams you don’t directly manage.
  • You move easily between the strategic (vision, V2MOM, executive narrative) and the tactical (action items, dependencies, status).
  • You have outstanding executive presence and write crisp updates leaders actually read.
  • You “Think Customer” and respect the mission of the people we serve.
  • You have sound judgment and discretion with confidential and pre-announcement information.

This candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship and agrees to complete a U.S. federal government Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position.
