About this job
At Commure, we're building the AI Operating System for healthcare, the foundation that defines how care is delivered, documented, and financed. Our platform spans the full care journey: Ambient AI and Dictation eliminating documentation burden at the point of care, intelligent Agents automating patient and revenue workflows, and autonomous RCM processing billions in claims, all on a single AI-native platform integrated with 60+ EHRs.
Healthcare carries a $1 trillion administrative burden and we're at the center of transforming it. Today, 500,000+ clinicians across 500+ healthcare organizations nationwide trust Commure to handle $25B+ in annual claims and support over 200 million patient interactions. Our latest $70M raise at a $7B valuation reflects the confidence the market has placed in this mission. We've also been named to the Fortune Future 50 list and the 2026 AI Breakthrough Awards for “Overall NLP Company of the Year.”
Our team works directly alongside clinicians, not through layers of process, which means the gap between what you build and its impact on patient care is immediate. We move fast, deploy daily, and take full ownership from early thinking to production. If you're energized by hard problems, high stakes, and a team that holds itself to a high bar, you'll find your people here.
The future of healthcare is being built right now. Come deliver this transformation.
About the Role
At Commure, our Air AI team is building the intelligence layer that lives inside the clinical workflow — one that listens, documents, reasons, and acts so clinicians don't have to. The Provider Pod turns that intelligence into the daily clinician experience. The team works across AI-powered documentation that transcribes patient visits and structures them into clinical notes in real time, a conversational clinical assistant grounded in live patient context and medical literature, and an extensible AI Skills Library of reusable agents and workflows that automates clinical work across the platform. We also own the core provider surfaces around charting, clinical coding, treatments and flowsheets, orders, labs, prescriptions, and the signed encounter that powers downstream billing.
As the Engineering Manager for the Provider Pod, you'll lead a full-stack team responsible for building AI that clinicians trust with their most critical work. You'll own people leadership, technical direction, roadmap execution, and operational excellence across Python backend services, TypeScript/React product surfaces, and AI/LLM workflows. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, Clinical, AI/ML, Data, Platform, and RCM to turn ambitious ideas into intuitive, scalable, and reliable features that work in real clinical environments. This is a hands-on leadership role on a fast-moving team that celebrates large ambition, ships daily, and makes decisions quickly.
What You'll Do
Lead and grow the Provider Pod: Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team of full-stack engineers.
Own product and engineering outcomes: Drive the roadmap and execution across scribe documentation, the clinical assistant, reusable AI skills, and core provider workflows.
Set the technical direction: Guide architecture across Python services, TypeScript/React experiences, data systems, and AI/LLM workflows.
Partner cross-functionally: Work with Product, Design, clinical experts, AI/ML, Data, Platform, and Air Billing to ship intuitive solutions for real clinical environments.
Raise the engineering bar: Establish strong practices for planning, code quality, testing, deployment, and observability while keeping the team fast and pragmatic.
Drive operational excellence: Ensure provider-facing systems are reliable, secure, performant, and supported by effective on-call and incident response.
Build a high-ownership culture: Mentor technical leaders and foster strong judgment, customer empathy, healthy debate, and a bias toward action.
What You Have
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, required
6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing or formally leading engineers
Proven success hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams
Strong full-stack technical depth across Python, TypeScript/React, APIs, data systems, containers, and cloud infrastructure
Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs or shipping AI-powered features in production
Track record of driving complex, user-facing products from early ideation through successful production deployment
Strong product judgment, communication, and cross-functional leadership in fast-moving environments
Bonus: experience with EHRs, clinical software, healthcare interoperability, or regulated environments such as HIPAA and SOC 2
